The high plains of the Dolly Sods Wilderness, Monongahela National Forest, WV.

Dolly Sods is an area of high elevation wind-swept plains on the Allegheny Plateau. At elevations of 2,600 to over 4,000 feet, the area has extensive flat rocky plains, upland bogs, beaver ponds, and sweeping vistas. The plant life and climate on this high plateau resembles northern Canada, and many species found here are near their southernmost range. I took this pic in the spring.
Many of the trees show how the wind ravages them on one side. Kinda cool, huh?

My book is due on Wednesday.
I spent the day working on my online class, and cleaning, and other assorted avoidance tasks designed to keep me from doing what I really need to be doing–which is finishing the final touches on my book. I guess I was hoping the Author Fairy would come over and do it for me. So where the hell is she??
She is so FIRED.

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

"First it's glowing, then it's snowing! A pause, then screaming squalls and williwaws. Bright but bitter, then a thaw. Yet again it's cold and storming: What ever happened to global warming?"

Sorry you’re still sick, Melissa. I’ve been there. Sick, sick, sick. Went to the doc (Hubby took me. Poor guy was so worried.)
doc hooked me up to an IV, had his nurse give me some kind of shot, and said I’d live.
Slept for two more days, but woke up and felt great.
Get Better.
