We had a bit of a get together today. Blaze grilled out hamburgers, hotdogs, and some fresh sweet corn we got at the farmer's market. It was very. very. tasty!

YUMMMM, I LOVE sweet corn! The rest sounds great too!

We're grilling steak today…later..after my husband gets home from the flightline - they are moving planes today, for the Hurricane..and tomorrow too…

So, steak, prob. mashed taters, green LeSeur peas…chocolate cake (storebought)….

Tonight it's leftover spaghetti and a green salad. Hubby's coming home after 4 months in Alaska trying to sell our house (we did) and he has requested his favorite meal when he rolls in on monday.

Meatloaf, homemade mac-n-cheese and green beans.

Grilled chicken breasts, potato salad, baked beans and a tossed salad.  Peanut Butter Cake for dessert.  It's a new recipe — and I finally made it this afternoon.  It looks good…so, we'll see.

Jane, that's a forum designation.  First two posts–everyone is a Hatchling.  Three to ten posts, you're a Banty.  After that, you're a Big Chicken. Laughing

No, it's Big Chicken from there on out.  We don't kill our chickens here, LOL.  Our chickens are our friends!

Roasted hen that was baked with a whole lemon inside the cavity and olive oil, salt, pepper and rubbed sage mixed together and rubbed onto hen.

Whole potatoes (lightly rubbed in olive oil to keep moist while baking) that were placed in roasting pan with hen.  Served by themselves after being tossed to coat in the pan drippings( just enough to flavor)

Salad… Diced cucumbers, chopped onions, diced yellow tomatoes, diced beefsteak tomatoes, salt, pepper all tossed with Hellman's mayo. Quantities and seasoning to your own taste.  Also can use Miracle Whip, low fat dressing or mayo… we like real mayo

Cornbread

I think I'm doing swiss-tomato-basil pizza tonight.  We've got a surplus of tomatoes (yet not enough to be worth canning) and I've gotta plan a few dinners centering around tomatoes!
