In the grove of pecan trees about midway down the pasture lives a most unusual animal. It stands erect like a curious meerkat, but runs like a squirrel. The tail is long and bushy like a squirrel but easily twice as thick. The face wears a black mask like a racoon but is much smaller and petite. It climbs trees and lives in pairs.
I would say it's a squirrel, but the black mask and size makes it so different from our typical gray variety. It definitely isn't a racoon… Any guesses?

I googled weasel pictures and it sorta does look like one…however the tail was bushier and that darn mask. Maybe it really WAS a mask and it was Zorro, the wonder squirrel out fighing bandidos for the barn.
