I am trying to incubate some chicken eggs in an electric frypan first day while adjusting the temp I came back to find it had reached 110% F, but thought I would continue just incase. It is now day 6 and I tried candling the eggs because they are brown it is hard to see through them, but I can see air pockets some are quit big about what a 14 day old is suppose to be I think ( my first time at this) In some the air bubble move around as you turn the egg in 2 the air bubble moves very little, and some only have a small air bubble, wish I could see through these eggs can anyone help this novice.

Well just updating about my electric frypan eggs, other than having to power failures yesterday due to a storm, I rapped my frypan up in towels and blankets to retain the heat, it worked. Candle the eggs again last night and I'm prode to say I am a mum as I can see little bubs inside the eggs. So never through out eggs that you have over heated as miracles still happen even today. I am so happy today I can wait till they break out. I think I was born to be a mum, I love baby animals, I have 4 baby calves as well as my girls that sit on the back of my calves we all get on well.

I tried this two times this summer and was unsuccessful.  My first go around was due to not regulating the humidity (very important at the end!).  On both attempts I had formed chicks but I believe the first go around my humidity was not high enough and the second attempt it was too high.  Also I had a problem regulating the temperature.  Sometimes it would spike too high.

Good luck!  I wish you much success.

No my Isa-Brown hens sit on my calves back, if I did I would break there backs ( not a skinny lady) My calves are Hereford & 1 Angus one of my little hereford was 3 weeks premature 12 hrs old when the farmer was going to knock him on the head because he said it would take to much work to keep him & it would probable die anyway so I bought him, cheap though and they gave me another calf with him. Got the Vet to look at him & they said that he would die as its lungs, digestive system and body temperature control were all under developed. So I put a doggy coat on it to keep it warm carried it around with a towel under his stomach pulling it up to make like a hand at the top of his back, for 2 week with its little legs just touching the ground to exercise it. Called him Ali after Mohomad Ali cos he was just a great fighter, well he is alive running around and very healthy today and is now 5 months old still give me cuddles, he thinks I'm his mum & when the others use to bully him I would stick up for him with my stick. So you can imagine my house hold I am retired lady (due to having a heart attack & stroke) I live by myself in the country in Australia. I have a very loyal little dog that goes every where with me. A cat thats 13yrs old, 8 Isa-Brown hens and Randy Rooster, 4 Calves and 19 chicken babies waiting hatch. Trying to get a RIR rooster next as Randy is an Austrolorp leghorn, great rooster though comes to his name as well and looks after the girls really well

Oh Merilyn!  What a heartwarming story about your Ali!  I must add — it's good to know that your “girls” are chickens!  I was picturing something along the 5 or 8 year old line of humans riding the calves…  I'd love to see a picture of your fowl cowgirls!

Don't think I can put pictures on for two reasons, don't know how to do it and I live in the country and the only internet I can get is dial-up and it is so slow to down load or up load data. But I whish you could see my Ali I love him so much because we fort to gether to save his life the vet said he live purly from the love that I gave him he was very sick though had scours for 3 weeks ( diaharria) had phumonea 3 times and I sat with him many nights so If he died he wouldn't be alone.

All my baby no matter what type of animal it is always gets serious love on property, the are all named except some of my girls as they are a bit hard to tell apart. 3 are named one is Speedy as she chases my car, Missy as she has a crook voice and Randy and you know why I called him Randy Andy he's a rooster. My little dog is called Patch as he has a dark patch  on his eye. My old cat is called Tory. My calves are Ali as he is No. one in my eyes, Nuggins cos when he was little after he finished his milk he would put the bucket on his head and walk into tree and walls, Midnight is my little Angus calf he is all black and last of all I have Pale Face the name explains it all. I made a promise that while any animal no matter what type, it would have the best life any animal can have while it is with me. In return I receive unconditionale love from them and a reasion to get up every morning and live another day. I have been quit ill myself over the past few years with a stroke and heart attack

Well I think your right I have3 gone 11 day with the temp on 100% F and Humidity on 55% when I went to town to buy some gear to make a brooding box and when I got home to turn my eggs the pan was on 108% F so don't know how they are doing know. Have bought a second hand incubator as soon as it arrives I might tranfer them into that just incase there are some little angels fighting in there.

Hi everyone hope u are all well as I am great one of my girls (hen) has layed some hugh eggs thought I would weigh one and it weighed 92 grams don't know how she can get them out, they are single yokers to. Anyway I could here this hen chuckle really load, louder than when the rooster crows.( u know the sound they do when they lay an egg) So I thought it must be loud from the pain of giving birth to this large golden egg. So when I heard up I got raced out to the back nearly broke my neck try to get my boots on fast to see which of my girls was laying this egg, only to get to there shed where the sound was coming from and bugger my dead it was the rooster making the sound. Well scratched my head and thought maybe Randy Andy was a bit confused. HaHaHa!
