Beeyourself..I haven't eaten at Carraba's yet, here, but I keep hearing how wonderful it is!!
We have been eating out all weekend, as today is our anniversary. Yesterday, we went to East Texas to eat seafood at a resteraunt, overlooking a little lake. Really pretty day. So, being as we've been eating out all weekend, we're grilling steaks today. LOL

We just got in from our anniversary trip to San Antonio, where we ate heavenly all weekend long. We plan all our vacations around our favorite foods, how sick is that. So tonight we had local fried chicken tenders. I just didnt have energy for anything more.

Why is it we plan celebrations centered around food?? LOL!
My collards turned out so yummy last night. I'm so glad for the cooler weather and good collards! The mac and cheese on the other hand, not so good. I used Paula Deens' recipe and it came out sooo dry. Why is the mac & cheese in her restaraunt so good??

I don't know what happened to the post I just typed.
I think I'm making Shrimp Boil for dinner. I've got some shrimp in the freezer I need to use up. I'll add some corn and new potatos to that. Bake some cornbread, and call it dinner!

YUM Jayne..I love Shrimp!
Last night, I made chicken and dumplings and then have leftovers from yesterday AND thawed hamburger…so I am just having a mish mash of all of the above. Well, I 'll save the chicken and dumplings for MY supper, because my husband is not big on them. I don't like alot of chicken in my dumplings, so I boil it and remove it and then put a little in mine as I want. This am, I made him a chicken sandwhich for breakfast wtih that boiled meat…

Tonight it’s lamb chops and braised lamb shanks from the sheep we raise. We butchered this year’s only ram lamb (we nicknamed “Lambchop” to remind me not to get attached to him), and one older ewe (mutton can be good, too.) Better farm raised than factory raised, and unless you are a vegetarian those are the only two real choices.
We’re also having green beans. It may be fall here, but no one told the beans. The vines are dead and dying, and still we have beans. After being away for a week I decided to take one last look in the garden and ended up with a gallon ziplock of beans ready to cook. I’ve already canned beans until we have enough to last more than a year, and I hate frozen green beans, so the two of us will be eating freash green beans with every meal for awhile. Green bean omelet anyone?

Donna — It isn't like it sounds (little cheeseburgers swimming around in broth screaming, “Help me! I'm drowning!”)! It's onion, shredded carrots (even non-carrot lovers will eat this soup - because the carrots are so tiny) and celery cooked with lean ground beef — and then you add chicken broth (yes, not a typo — chicken broth) and potatoes. You thicken it and add Velveeta and sour cream at the end. I make mine very low-fat — but it doesn't taste low-fat. It's a comfort soup. If anyone wants the recipe, I'll post it.
Tired and a bit loopy tonight. Can you believe I dropped a cutting board straight down the side of my leg — and it hit my ankle?! Now I have a swollen ankle and a huge bruise! These things can only happen to me!

Tresh — I'm saving your dip for one of my parties! It sounds very good — and it's printed and saved in my “to try next” folder.

I was thinking about trying it for my Stamping party Sunday.

my hubby loved the meatloaf and I even had a sliver but hid it under the mashed potatos…just like a kid with disguising taste under Catsup..he also inhaled half a bowl of Donna's banana pudding…I am gone tonight so he will have to try some meatloaf sandwiches….between you and me I bet he doesn't…I bet he heads for the closest What-a-burger! hahaa

Connie, my husband hates chicken and dumplings too. LOL Everytime I say I am making it, he loves to tease me and say “uh, your ruining a chicken”..but he sure eats the boiled chicken on sandwhiches (because I don't like alot of chicken in mine, so I add what I want)…LOL But, I LOVE it, and have to have some..I don't make it often.
Tresh, I have saved your mozzerella dip too for an occasion. It sounds SO good and I want to try it!!! I am scared to make it only for me, because I may eat it all. LOL I am so glad you husband is loving the banana pudding…I think it's the best I have eaten, aside from baked with meringue and it's so darn EASY. LOL Thank you!
Beeyourself….I hope you heal fast…I am always saying that “it can only happen to me”…I am very task oriented, and get in a hurry. I hate that. I wish I were slow and neat and methodical like my neat freak Felix Unger husband…so I have mishappens alot. LOL Your soup sounds good and I would love to have the recipe..if you feel like posting.
Jayne…I am still looking for my Velveeta recipe for chicken spagetti….I have my mothers and my recipes and it looks like a small atomic bomb went off in my recipe files…it could take some time. LOL I found ONE, but it says to use cheddar too. I don't make that often, but I promise if I come across it, I'll be glad to post.
Today, we had pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravey and green peas. I put yogurt on my mashed potatoes and butter, instead of gravey, because the yogurt tastes just like sour cream. I pretend it's a stuffed potato. Then, my husband wanted peanut butter cookies…I made those this am. Later, I will have leftover chicken and dumplings - that should finish it up. BORING COOK HERE.
