Hello all,

I am currently putting my husband through college and money is tighter than I thought it would be.  And only gets worse with the cost of everything rising at a steady rate and my wages staying the same.  So I looked around to see what I could do for a little extra income.  Since I am an avid quilter and seamstress I have tons of fabrics.

So I decided to create some “vintage” style aprons to sell.  I will try this evening to get some pictures of them and post if possible.  Or I can always email a pic to anyone.  Please consider christmas presents for grandma or anyone.  I am also making child sizes.

Thanks for listening!

Where is Rockdale Texas?  I am in Mesquite.  I went to a quilt place in Waxahachie, Texas and got several patterns for old aprons.  I made them for our church sale and they sold.  Loved them.  I love the ones Sally Field wears in Places in The Heart the best.  Have you called churches to see if they are having annual craft or fall festivals?  some times they let you buy a table to sell things too.

HI!  Rockdale is right in the middle of Austin, Bryan, and Temple.  We do have an anual fair/rodeo with a craft show included and I will probably do that one.  Am also thinking of an ETSY shop.  And we have a new antique mall in town that I will get a booth in as soon as they open up more space.  I was off the past 2 days and I made 17 of them and dont have any idea how many more I have cut out.  It is fun and I really like coordinating the fabrics and rick rack and trims.  I really hope I can do good with them.  Thanks for asking.

What an awesome idea!  A couple of nights ago I was “googling” around and found quite a few sites with free apron patterns.  Everything from vintage to crocheted, knitted, and everything in between.  Since I'm quite a bit sewing challenged, I'll stick with being  a fiber artist.  I would love to see your aprons, and Etsy is a great place to get started and the prices to post are perfect!

I would be interested in a matching pair (adult and child), for a Christmas gift.  I can't wait to see the pictures.

Have you considered making other items - bags (totes), pot holders, plastic bag holders, placemats, coasters, etc?

Thank you all so much for your interest!!! I spent all of last evening learning how to work my new camera and get the pics on the computer.  So tonight when I get off work, I should be able to get them posted here tonight.  Again thank you all for your wonderful support!

One of my memories of my grandma is of her and her multitude of aprons! I often wish I had one for a keepsake. I would love to see pictures and prices of yours!

I did my best to get some pics tonight and emailed them to Suzanne.  Hopefully she will be able to post them in the morning.  Please feel free to pm or email me with any questions at all.

Thanks again Suzanne!

OHHHH!!!!! I'd love an apron!  I've been wanting to make one, just haven't found the time.  I'd need quite a few pockets, because I'd use it when I'm teaching scrapbooking.

Can't wait to see!

I resized Georgia's apron photos but I can't figure out how to upload them here.  You'd think I'd know!

I think it may be disabled because I checked in the online support for the forum program and it can be done.  I emailed my designer/technical wizard who sets things up for me to see what needs to be done to enable it.  Hopefully I'll get it figured out sometime today!  I'll let you know asap!

Just checked back in the forum-Kathryn uploaded a pic into a post one time and so did Remudamom.  I'm gonna email them and see if they are around!  (Kathryn!  Remudamom! If you're here, tell us how you did it!)
