It's Black Walnut Festival time!  October 9-12 in Spencer, West Virginia.  Here is a link to the website with the schedule and lots of info:

http://www.wvblackwalnutfestival.org/

Squire Parsons is the official grand marshall, and I'm one of several “honorary” grand marshalls that will also be riding on the float at the head of the parade. (This is completely ridiculous, LOL!)

So who's gonna be there?

How fun!  I have bad memories of stained hands from helping my dad pick up and skin black walnuts. But the great test was well worth it.

Suzanne, have you decided what to wear in the parade? I just looked at the parade route in the Roane County paper. Just be glad you’ll be riding, not marching. It’s got to be more than a mile.

Mike and I are planning to be there. Suggestion? Wear pants. And shoes. And a tiara, because tiaras are always flattering and draw attention. Carry a copy of all your books. The article in the local paper described you as the writer of “several” books. That’s an understatement. They listed the one (or two) books written by the other authors in the parade. They could have at least mentioned how many you’ve written even if they didn’t name them all.

I'm sure pictures of the Black Walnut Festival, and Suzanne riding in the parade, will soon appear on the blog. But let me be one of the first to point out that Suzanne was the best looking, and most talented individual on the float. At least they mentioned that you have written '26 romance novels' which is more than the write-up in the Roane County paper did. We are so proud of you!
