Does anyone here have rabbits? A friend just offered my daughter a hutch and a meat rabbit doe plus breeding for 4-H. Rob said yes, amazingly, so now I just have to go get it all. YAY!

We raised rabbits when I was in elementary school for meat. Our job was to put the little ones in the wire fences on the ground and move it all around the yard through out the day for them to eat the grass down. It was really cheap meat. They grew fast and multiplied fast and ate grass. We were very poor and it served us well. I had some rabbits a few years ago, wanting to do it again. But just couldnt get up the nerve and really didnt want rabbit meat. But the little fluffs sure were cute and fun till they got big.

Okay, so I'm late and just now catching up on all of the posting. Actually I just figured out how to. I have a satin angora rabbit for fiber…she gives a wonderful fiber. She's too old to reproduce and is paying for her retiremnt with yarn. Very pretty girl… you can see pics of her on my blog http://www.fouracrefarmgirl.blogspot.com She makes the funniest noises.
We want to raise meat rabbits…but I have never tasted rabbit before and I'm not tasting Dixie. LOL I have been reading about them and I'm a little skittish because they can multiply so quickly. Still thinking about it but in the planning stages…maybe one day when the barn is built. I will remeber to come here for help advice or condolences cuz I did it in the first place.

I got a bunny for my daughter for Christmas but she happened to find it Wednesday night. Not for meat just a sweet, cute, cuddly pet. He is adorable.

Hello All, I'm new since Nov. Enjoy Suzannes blog and all of your comments so much. Amanda, how old is your daughter? Bet she'll love the little bunny rabbit. How did she manage to find it before Christmas?

Welcome Leah!
I have an 11 year old and a 2 year old. The bunny is for my 2 year old. I had the cage covered with a towel but had it off during the day when we were not home and I forgot to cover it back up. So we have been playing with him, she loves him.

So nice to meet you, Amanda. Give the little ones a hug. I have to go next door and babysit Baby Brooke, my 8mo old grandbaby so her mama can go to the store. Good Luck with the Bunny.
