Did you get the jenny?  Do you think the other donkey is still coming?  I wouldn't worry so much what you read about them.  I was a little scared about a jack when I read some stuff about them but we haven't found that our Jack (yes, such an original name!) is mean at all.  He gets in a snit at feeding time, but that's to be expected.  The sheep have their own feed but they scarf it down fast and they'd steal Jack's if he didn't tell them to back off.  As far as people are concerned, Jack is really sweet to us.  Now about dogs, I've noticed that Pocahontas doesn't like Boomer AT ALL.  The two of them go at it a bit sometimes but that is Boomer's doing!  He makes a point of running to her and barking at her and bothering her.  He's just a pest that way and specifically to her, he doesn't do that way to the goats.  I don't know why he does that.  I've noticed him being pesty to the sheep sometimes, too.  Pocahontas will also chase the chickens around sometimes, which is hilarious.  She doesn't hurt them.  She just gets irritated with one sometimes and she'll put her head down and go after it all over the yard in circles for a few minutes then forget about it and wander off to eat some grass or something.

Clover made me do it.

THANK YOU SUZANNE I needed to be told that!Hug I'm so glad that your Jack turned out to be a friendly fellow …he sure is cute. Isn't that funny how  Boomer goes after Pocahontas and not the others…guess their personalities just clash. LOL I can picture her going after the chicken …what a hoot. We haven't heard anything about the Jack coming this weekend so I guess we'll just have to sit back and wait. BUT……GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!……WE GOT THE JENNY!!!! I'll try and get pictures on and tell you about her. I'm so excited!!!!!!Shimmy

(I got to rub Pocahontas on the nose while home!  Such a sweetie!)  I had one of Suzanne's chickens roost on my back (we were out putting up the chickens after dark…and I was in this chicken's spot!)…determined little thing!  I scratched Clover on her tiny nose…and, let me tell you this…Boomer is such a sweet dog!  Just a little bundle of love.  He sure found a great home!  Mean Rooster looked harmless…of course, he was sleeping at the time.  I think Suzanne's chickens (when fluffed) are bigger than Boomer…he bounces around like a cat.

Ok…so here goes. Oh shoot it's not going to work…I can't get a picture on here because I can't make the pictures smaller. I can make them smaller for an email but it just goes directly to my email program. I have Photoshop stored outside (we moved..then the computer broke down and we bought a new one) so maybe I better find it (good luck) and try to get Phoebe's picture on here.

YES that's what we called our little Dinky Donkey Jenny. She's 5 months old and they hadn't named her yet! She is a real sweetheart and the dogs love her! Well two of them do…one just likes to bark on the other side of the fence. I was worried about the dogs but when I let them in they just wagged their tails and tried to kiss Phoebe…she was currious about them too…a little taken back by all the attention but I can see that they will all be pals in no time. We have an Akbash puppy..he's 3 months old and he's so gentle with her but would love to play…eventually we hope he'll spend most of his time looking out for her. For those who don't know..an Akbash is a livestock guarding dog from Turkey. He'll grow to about 130 lbs and looks very much like Cocco only less hair! I promise I'll get pictures on here ASAP. If I could cut and paste I'd have them on here right now..oh well. I'll be back! Fork

Hello back at you! Is it Lea or Leah? Thanks for the info….as you can see I tried but I'm not too whoopie at this technical stuff. I only have the windows photo thing and so far I don't see any way to make the pictures smaller and store them instead of sending directly to my email. I know I can do it with Photoshop though so I know where I'll be when I get this sent off. Have a great day…I hope it's sunny for you!Fork

You are SO LUCKY! I see you're in Texas…you must have gone to Suzanne's party? LOL you're lucky Mean Rooster was sleeping! I'm glad to read that Boomer is a good little boy and not a little terror..guess he and Pocahontas just don't like each other much. I hope one day to get to one of Suzannes parties…never been past the middle of southern Missouri but one day we hope to catch the changing of the leaves from Prince Edward Island down to Arkansas. I can dream can't I LOL! Come on retirement! Hope you have a wonderful day.Fork

Thanks for offering to help. If you can tell me an easy way of doing this that would be wonderful but if you have things to do …go ahead and do them as this may take a while LOL! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Fork

Leah I'm still trying. Looks like I just got a red x though. Back to the drawing board. Since there is no 'browse' button for inserting an image….where would I find the URL? I feel like an idiot…I'm sure it's so easy I'll die of embarrassment when I figure it out. By the way….I'm Maura and it's nice to meet you Leah. Thanks for your help…I do appreciate it. Oh…how do I get this photo bucket? Thanks.

One advantage of using Photobucket is that they provide the information you need to post your photo on the forum by just hovering over the spot.

You have to join but it's free – that way you can come back to your own album and the photos you have already uploaded.

At the top of the opening screen there is a navigation bar.  The first tab is "My Albums" — click on the tab.  and a drop-down menu appears.  Choose the first option – "albums and upload" and click that.  On the next screen there is a big button that says "Upload Images and Videos" – click on that button.  Your harddrive files will appear on the screen.  Navigate to the file where you have your photos stored and select the one(s) you want to upload.  If you want to select more than one photo at a time hold down the control key while you select.  When you have captured all the photos you want to upload, click 'open' and the upload will start.

After the photos have uploaded a screen will appear inviting you to name the photo and record any additional information you want to add.  If you don't want to add anything, just hit the "return to album" button and it will take you back to your collection of photos.  If your photo is in a large format you can resize the photo by hitting edit, then resize.  You can choose to insert the number of pixels you want, or you can choose a "preset size" — and select small.  Then save the resized photo. Hover over any photo and a drop-down menu will appear.  The second choice is "Direct Link" — copy the link.

Now back to the forum and your comment.  At the top of the comment box is a button that looks like a tree (that's the symbol for 'insert image').  After you click on the tree a box will appear.  The top line says "Image URL" — now paste the URL of the Direct Link you just copied from Photobucket.

I've been following the same steps I just described — and here is the photo I uploaded and inserted in this comment.

It seems complicated, but if you take each individual step and follow the directions above you'll soon be posting photos.

Did you go through the process and upload your photo to PhotoBucket?  Can you see your photo on the screen there?

Oh oh……think I made this too big….I hit medium because it looked smaller than the 500X375 Suzanne suggested. If it's too big I apologize…if it works…I'm Happy!    Meet Phoebe!

It was a bit LARGE!  The size you should aim for is something like 120×160 to get a photo the size of the one I posted above.  Don't worry, I resized it for you by editing the comment, clicking on the photo, and dragging the corners until the photo got small enough to fit the width of the comment.  It's not a perfect solution since you may get the dimensions a little off, but I hope I guessed right and your donkey looks okay in the photo.

By the way, when the photo is too large it really messes up the sidebar.
