Birthday dinners

Today is my birthday and I am trying to decide what I want for dinner. It's the rule here that we have whatever the birthday person wants for dinner. On your birthday in our house, you get to choose any dish and I am usually the person who makes it. I don't have to make it on my own birthday but I still get whatever I want for dinner. Hubby makes it (he's a better cook than I am anyway.)

Its such a hard decision! I love so many things, cabbage rolls, lasagna, fried chicken with mashed pots and gravy and biscuits, chicken and dumplings…the list just goes on and on.. what to have? Its just too hard!

What would you choose to have on your birthday if someone would make you anything you could possible want?

Oh to have the pleasure of deciding!!  That is the rule in our house, too, but I share my birthday with my niece……..so being the greatest aunt that there is, I leave her with the decision!!

P.S.  You weren't listed in the birthdays!!  But you are now!!!!   Laugh

Oh that is so hard to decide.  I think it would either be lasagna or homemade gnocci with pesto and peccarino cheese.

A good steak, grilled medium rare, mushrooms and onions on the side, a broiled lobster tail or some really big shrimp for cocktail. Baked potato too with a bit of sour cream.

Oh drooling in my coffee LOLOL.

Happy Birthday!!!

We have the same rule in our house too.

But since I live right on the Gulf it is always seafood that I love and decide on.

Usually something with shrimp like shrimp scampi with lots of garlic.  A nice piece of grilled steak along side and a baked potato with both butter and sour cream.  Blue cheese wedge salad to go along with it all.

On my last birthday I picked hamburgers and fries.  The one before that I decided on meat loaf and mashed potatoes.  I don't know why I remember things like that!  I think if mybirthday were today, I would pick enchiladas with chicken, spinach and mushrooms.  Haha  It sounds so good right now that I think I'm going to have to make it for dinner!

Same rule in this house.  I usually pick:  grilled steak, mashed potatoes(sometimes garlic mashed potatoes), my Mom's canned green beans, and hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Maybe next yeat it will be my own canned green beans!

Happy Birthday!  When do we eat Hungry cause y'all are making me hungry!  Steak, steak fries, salad and homemade rolls or anything Mexican would be my choice.  But all these other dinners sound really good too.  Especially those garlic mashed potatoes…..I'm such a carb girl…..

Since my birthday is at the end of summer, my choice has always been grilled steak, baked potato w/sour cream, steamed fresh brocoli and sweet corn…  lots and lots of sweet corn!

After all that, I could do very well without birthday cake even as a kid, but we also got to choose our favorite cake, and mine was always something lemon.  A friend makes the best lemon cake with Meyer Lemon-curd between the layers and nice light lemon frosting with candied zest on top.  mmmmmmmmmm…  now my mouth is watering.

Hey Suzanne!  What happened to yesterday's little math quiz to post???  I thought it was kinda cute!
