Even though I live out in the country, I work in a fairly large city (Raleigh).  The area all around here is growing like crazy and we got a Trader Joe's grocery store almost 2 years ago.  If you've never been to one, they sell wonderful gourmet specialty items and prepared foods and wine (!) for very reasonable prices.  My Trader Joe's is conveniently on my way home so I shop there a few times a month.

If you shop at TJ's, what are your favorite products?

I always buy capers, jarred roasted red peppers, pesto, whole wheat mini pitas, greek yogurt, chocolate covered espresso beans and chipotle salsa.  And their triple ginger snaps are to.die.for!

oooOh!!    My favorite are the sesame seed covered honey cashews.  OMGOSH!!  I would serve those to Jesus and put the bag away in case he wanted seconds!  Cool

Love the 2 buck chuck!  Hubby and I moved to WV 2 years ago from VA where we frequented the Trader Joe's in Newport News.  There are no TJs in WV so I either stock up when I visit my friend in Columbus, OH -3.5 hours away:-(! or my son is still in VA and we have him bring us a case when he visits.

I moved to WV from Southern California last January where I had my pick of Trader Joe's markets. I love their fresh salads, fresh pizza dough, and  their selection of cheeses. It amazes me that the can sell exactly the same items the local grocery stores sell, sometimes at half the price. ('Dare' crackers to go with that cheese for example.)

I used to stock up on ethnic sauces (I loved their Indian cooking sauces) and bulk nuts and grains. I vacationed in Williamsburg, VA last month, and shopping at a Trader Joe's was at least as enjoyable as the historic sites we visited. Still, I wouldn't trade my farm in WV for a Trader Joe's, but then I wouldn't object if they opened one in Spencer, or Ripley, or Charleston…

Oh I miss Trader Joe's… and Wild Oats for that matter. I lived in So. California for a short stint, and  those were excellent places with all sorts of tasty treats.

I have not tried the honey sesame cashews, but I'm gonna have to put that on the list for next week!  They sound sooooo good.  I buy the wine by the case, too!  It is 3-buck Chuck here though…not that I'm complaining.  It is still might tasty for a wine that cheap.  WV_Hills, I recently bought the Thai red curry sauce and we looooooved it so I'm definitely going to try some of the other asian sauces.  I agree that the prices are incredibly reasonable.

I've tried them all, and I have my favorites (like the korma sauce and the masala sauce), but I haven't found any of them I disliked. We raise lamb, and it's so easy to brown cubes of lamb and simply dump the sauce over then, warm it through, and add some rice, and it's dinner time.
