I just rented Ballet Slippers - unreal.  a great movie based on a book by Neal Streatfeild.  Never read the book as a child.  it is a great film for women and girls - good script.  The girl who was in the Harry Potter movies is one of the main characters.

Also Then She Found Me - has a wonderful scene in there about God with Helen Hunt and her mother and the ending is wonderful - a true definition of real life

I had no idea they made a movie of Ballet Slippers…I'll have to netflix it. Didn't know they made one of Then She Found Me either?!! Loved the book!

Last movie I saw at home was I'll Be Seeing You, with Ginger Rogers and the theatre was The Mummy 3.

Some Nicole Kidman movie about Aliens and it was stupid.

Also Steel Magnolias - which was filmed near where I live - it's as funny today, as the day it came out! Shirley McClain is a HOOT!

Mama Mia!  I went a few weeks ago with a friend.  Hubby would never go.  It's a great feel good movie.  But I didn't recognize half the songs I thought I would.  Meryl Steep was awesome in it, as was the girl who played her daughter.

Definitely a good girls night out movie!

At the theatre… Mama Mia. I'm in the same boat as Jayne. The Boy wouldn't take me, and looked at me quite horrifiedly when I mentioned they were re-releasing it as a sing-along version. I don't understand! WHO DOESN'T LIKE TO SING ABBA SONGS!?  Hehehehe.

At home? We watched The Fellowship of the Ring. It was awesome.. as always. :-)

We watched August Rush with Robin Williams a few nights ago.  I had no idea what it was about when we started and for the first 10 minutes almost didnt stick it out.  (Would rather be sewing!)  But every minute it got better and better and by the end of the movie I was bawling like a baby!  It was a wonderful movie, very touching and a very happy ending.  Everything I like in a movie!  A must see!!!

I loved August Rush too - and olld sort of wil this ever happen movie - but you never know really.  I would love to se Mama Mia too.  Today i watched a great movie for women - Boneville.  Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Joan Allen.  Jessica's char's husband dies and is cremated. they take a ride in his old Bonneville across country to the funeral.  His dtr wants the ashes there. she wants to scatter them as they drive to places they shared.  I LOVE ANYTHING KATHY BATES IS IN -  saw her sing the other day - wow - (except for that horror movie she is in wher she keeps that guy locked up) and in this movie it is interesting to see who gets the guy!!!!!!  a good movie.

Thanks for reminding me about the Mama Mia movie. I'm going to visit my daughter and maybe we'll try to see it while I'm there. My niece had the role Sophie in the production opened in London and is on the original soundtrack. Of course I never made it to London to see it. At home here I watched No Reservations  last night..kinda slow but I love romance movies.

I think the last movie I saw was Nanny McFee.  Most of my movie watching these days is done with the kids.

I thought Nanny McFee was a really sweet film. We just watched this nutty movie called Hot Fuzz…it's a British police movie but funny and quirky. I liked it a lot.

Last movie I saw was the new X Files movie. It was actually quite good but then I'm a sci-fi fan.

Everyone - Last night I watched the Hallmark movie called THE NOTE - wow - it was made in 2007 so maybe some of you have seen it .  i am still thinking about it.  a must see.  find it.  it is about love, forgiveness, second chances.  a great family movie for sure.

a reporter is drawn to a memorial service near the ocean where a plane crashed and killed all on board. she tries to talk to some of the people (her own life draws her there) but a rude lying tv report butts in and he gets no story but wants hers.  one day while sitting on the rocks looking at the ocean a piece of a life vest washes up with a note in a baggie.  she takes thenote to the office and reads it and wants to find who this dad was writing to at the last minute.  she writes her comumn on her journey to find this person.  - wow and wow again.

the story takes place at christmas and she wants her last column to be her gift to her readers.  everyone begins reading the column and sending her emails.  the end is unreal.  that is all i will share - you must see it.

Have y'all seen The Bucket List?  oh my gosh…a little slow in the beginning because they are feeding you a lot of information about the characters background but by the end…oh so good….even my 14 year old daughter was bawling at the end!  so good.

Steel Magnolias and Hoosiers are my lifetime faves.  Also The Notebook.

A movie that EVERYONE needs to see and own:      STARDUST

Period. Ends of story! It's a fabulous little movie based on the story by Neil Gaiman (excellent author, btw), and it's just adorable! It's got a very Princess Bride feel to it.

I took a few hours away from football (don't have a heartattack anyone)  and met a girlfriend for a movie.  We saw “Nights in Rodanthe”  Oh it was good!  If you can't see it in the theatre, rent it when it comes out!  It was good!  Loved that it was set in the Outer banks, Richard Gere gets better looking the older he gets, and Diane Lane is just a doll!

I saw the movie Ghost Town, it was really heart touching. I wasn't expecting it to be as funny as it was but it was. I suggest you all to go see it. There is no profanity in it so I think it's kid friendly unless you have an issue with ghosts (not spooky ghosts).

We saw Tyler Perrys new movie, “The Family That Preys Together”. It was really good. I just love his movies,  they make such statements about family without all the sex scenes and raw language.  We really enjoyed it. Kathy Bates is a real hoot!
