Then pass on over to Michigan from PA……….the craft room needs serious help here too!!  It doesn't seem that long ago I worked on that…………too many ideas, too little taking care of!  That's my project this week also, Liz, we'll work on it together!

Well it looks like I will busy today, Battening down the hatches, we have a storm coming ashore!

Ida is predicting a direct hit on Pensacola. While she is supposed to be only a category 1 storm,  it can still be very damaging.  Heavy rains are predicted with this one.  Since we have huge oak trees, we worry about that, as they uproot in that kind of weather.  We lost 2 of our huge oaks during Hurricane Erin a few years back.

I have all the supplies I need.  The phones are on charge, as is the computer, groceries bought.  Today we will work on putting the yard stuff in safe places so they won't blow around.

If Ida looks like she will be stronger than a category 1, you will find me on the road, heading somewhere safer.  probably heading west, since she's going east after she comes ashore.

Head for WV!  We never get hurricanes here, and we have a spare room and a full root cellar.

Good weather report – it's been downgraded and expected to remain a dgrading tropical storm, so the winds should be much less than hurricane force.  Still a lot of rain, of course, but that is better than having whole trees uprooted and blowing around.

Good Luck Jayne…haven't seen the weather yet so hope your oaks are still standing and you're staying home safe and sound. We'll be watching for your report when it's over. Clover

we came through okay, a little damper, a few small limbs down.  By far not the worst storm we've weathered.  Still overcast and windy, but cooler today.  Thanks for asking.

I'm relieved to hear that the storm has passed and you're safe.  I'm glad that you didn't have to evacuate.  Doesn't hurricane season usually end in November?  The weather god doesn't read a calendar, huh?  I had family living down near Palm Beach Gardens and I just hated the danger of storms…I'm not a fan of water.  Good thing!  There's isn't much moisture of any kind in Montana!

Hurricane season ends November 30th.  Ida decided to make a last minute visit.  In comparison, Ivan, in 2004, came to visit the beginning of September.  I prefer the later in the season storms like Ida.  They don't do the damage the early season guests do.
