Exciting day here!  We're going off to clean the fire hall!  Tomorrow is the 57th annual Pancake Supper/Craft Fair fundraiser.  The fire hall is very dusty since it's a volunterr fire department located on a gravel road.

Y'all are welcome to join us tomorrow (or today to clean!) if you're in the neighborhood!   Pancakes, sausage bacon and ham steak!Chef

Have fun, and I will rest for everyone…

I should be doing the same – maybe an afternoon nap. We have some kind of crud lol. Starts with burning sinuses – nose and back of throat especially. Lots of post-nasal drip and snuffling at night. Doesn't knock you down but just feels like…. crud Hole

Would have thought it was just sinus stuff I get w/barometric changes but it's progressed thru all 3 of us here. Glad I could track it, because I was to go to a Mary Kay party that my future DIL is having and I do not want to spread anything to anyone else. She came and got all the fixings I had for spinach dip and a veggie tray. I am doing laundry and poking around.

Thinking about making a pot of hot and sour soup extra spicy.

Maybe chicken noodle for the others Devil

All of our little towns here have volunteer fire depts.  too.  You can practically eat at some function at one or the other every week!  There are only two that I help out with the cleaning though!  I know everyone will have a great time and raise lots of $$!

Do you know where you are going to stay?

Your trip sounds like fun Astrid!!  I was in France in 200y, in Brest on the coast of Brittany.  We went up to Mont. St. Michel (what an amazing place).   I loved being in France and Eurodisney sounds like a whole lot of fun!

I think they are planning on finding a farmhouse in the Burgundy area, she mentioned about 3 hours from Paris.  There will be about 10 of us from all over the world meeting together.  The couple that invited me is from Canada but will be travelling home from Bangladesh where they currently linve, her parents from New Zealand will come, friends who teach in Moscow but are originally from Scotland will be there as will another teaching couple from Moscow who are originally from the US.

I remember the Sunday market in Brest .. streets filled with vendors selling cheeses (which I could not pronounce!!) and meats and fruits and veggies …. and the crepes … OMG, any crepe filling you desired wrapped into a warm crepe.

That market was my favorite, my second favorite was one in Palermo, Italy on the island of Sicily.

Just back from the artist tour…oh it was so much fun!  Started at a woodcarver…he is just amazing…went to a potter…bought a vase that was "so me"…went to the glassblower…always fun to watch and he had some amazing paperweights (came away with one of those)…went to another potter…went to a wood turner.  He is very skilled.  He has an awesome workshop – and brings others in from around the world to teach.  (bought a marble for my collection there…they also teach glass crafting and jewelry making)  Went to a craft show at a church…bought two bars of soap.  (helping the local economy and staying clean)…Then…went to the one place I wanted to go to all day…the hand weaver.  It just fascinated me.  It always has.  After the first of the year, I can learn from her.  She is finishing her tests to become a master weaver…after the first of the year, she'll be taking on new students.  I'd be an apprentice…getting lessons for free, but working my bum off….learning to spin (if I want – and I want!), learning to design and learning all phases of the weaving process.  The studio is amazing – both husband and wife craft there.  Got a hot tip on a loom…so am going to check that out next week…and this woman said she'd go with me to look at it.  I have a book to hunt down and start reading …I am excited!  (Bought a dishtowel…made by one of the apprentices.  They only keep a pattern for six months and then retire it.)

It has been a fun day!  Am going out for dinner.

Thank you for your kind words.  Funny, I get the bathrooms!  But, the kitchen was a major disaster!  It's tough being only one of 3 women involved.  I am beat!  I think I hear a wine glass calling my name……

I was in France in 99 with my Sister (who lives near London). We spent 4 days in Paris and I loved every minute of it. The best day was in the village of Versailles…they had a farmers market going on and it was so bright and beautiful with all the sellers calling out in French. Such a beautiful language…much softer than the Canadian French. This little old lady who looked like a Gypsy was sitting on a chair in the market playing on a little accordian for money and a little girl was dancing. I got lots of pictures from that trip. We found some beautiful pastry shops in the village…the chocolate was like art …it was April so there were little chocolate flower pots! Everything was beautiful. We had lunch at a little sidewalk restaurant…I had a salad that had warm potatoes greens and wonderful sausage…makes my mouth water just thinking about itChef. I'd go back in a flash if I could. Maybe one day down the road. Fork

Have a wonderful trip Shells….hope you'll post some pictures when you get back!

The scrapbook extravaganza was sooo much fun! I finished 13 scrapbook pgs,I just need to put them in my album and put the pg protectors on! I came back with more scrapbook stuff than I brought, good thing I happened to have an empty tote in the car! I won several sm gifts(everyone did)mostly sticker packs. At the end of Sat eve I won a big gift…a Blue 12×12 scrapbook album with "Blush Blooms" scrapbook paper and stickers to decorate it with!Clover And I purchased a few things, just alphabet stickers, pgs and pg protectors. Also won the early bird prize Sat. I got there at 7:05am,hahaha! The prize is an 8×8 paper C'mas album with papers, quotes and stickers, really cute! There were a lot of nice ladies there. We shared ideas, stories, and a few laughs. Glad I went!Happy Feet

Scrapbook weekends are always the best.  I find such inspiration, learning new techniques, new products etc.  I just don't like the packing to go, and the unpacking when I get back.  I need a craft fairy.

My sil and sister and I and 2 other girlfriends try to get together one night a week or so for 'craft night'. Usually ends up with 1/4 crafting and the rest talking about everyone and drinking and a lot of laughing. Its great to be able to just have a laugh and let go, no matter what your craft.

My sister says her craft is usually to keep our glasses filled! We love her craft the best, and she is really good at it!

And THAT is now on my Dear Santa list! I do have a bottle of crown hidden in here somewhere…makes me wonder where now…but I do think I need a special place for it, maybe call it my "Inspiration Drawer"

Yeah, can you believe they trusted me with the liquor for our yearly "toast"?  Actually I'd forgotten about it until I cleaned out the cabinet to move stuff into the new cabinet.  Glad I found it before February.
