Have fun Jayne!

I'm gathering up the rest of what is needed for the trip.  Working on my sewing kit today…scissors, safety pins, thread to match what the bridesmaids and groomsmen are wearing…white for the bride, I also have chalk (it's supposed to cover emergency spots), thread for my dress, needles.  There is always someone popping a button or ripping something at the last minute…if I'm not prepared, that will be a given!

I slept in this morning – my mother woke me up.  It's like she has built in radar, and knows when I'm sleeping in.  She gets me every time.  (I usually call her a bit later…and I never sleep in.)

Moving slowly here – and enjoying it.

I have some outside stuff to do this morn before the heat gets turned up on high. At least its cloudy. And gonna find something to throw in the crockpot and call it cooking.

Can't wait to see that quilt Georgia!  You are so creative and talented.

Bee, it sounds like you are getting everything covered.  I'm glad I'm the groom's mom and not the bride's.  you have too much work! LOL!   Enjoy and easy, lazy day, you deserve it, you've been going 90 to nothing for weeks!

I'm baking wheat bread today.  And I'm using my Kithenaid mixer to mix it up!

I should do that too. By about 4pm I could just set it outside for a few minutes and have it totally baked a pretty brown!

Kinda of a laid back, catching up sort of a day here.  A little laundry, may put something in the crock pot in a bit, and want to work on one of the closets.

Am I the only one who seems to get more done on days when I don't plan to do anything?  It would seem that when I give myself assignments of things to do, as if I expect them to be done on a schedule, they NEVER get done, but when I simply give myself permission to take the day off, amazing things get done.  The moral of the story may be to never expect much??  Certainly less disappointment that way!

I've never done laundry in a crock pot before…interesting.

I'm trying to get back in the working grove for my 7 day stretch. Sure is hard to be here after knowing its soon going to be over for good. I just wanna be home sewing.

Works great, G.  But you need to be very careful about color fastness…  Pink Pig

This whole week has been just a riot. Tuesday and Wednesday on the road to and from the doctor in Charleston (120 miles round trip each day). Today the fencing crew showed up just as I was milking and spooked the goats before I could head the fencers off.

I had just started making mozzarella cheese (which isn’t hard, but it does take some precise timing) just when the washer repairman showed up. I begged off for 2 minutes to get the cheese off the stove where I could leave it for 5 minutes. The repairman stood tapping his foot as if 2 minutes was an hour out of his life.

My conversation with the repairman started out with “they told me you have a top loader” — I have a front loader. They told him it wasn’t under warranty. (It is until November 2010.)  So I was on the phone with Sears repair center/scheduling while stirring cheese while listening to the repairman and relaying his questions to the lady on the phone. (Talk about multi-tasking!)

The repairman says he can’t do the repair without a new repair order. We got the new repair order in the system. Now he can’t repair the washer because it takes a part he has to order, and he won’t be back until next week sometime — IF the part comes in.

Just when I thought the day couldn’t get worse I found out that the guys are missing some supplies they need in the morning when they start work at 9:00. The supplies they need require me to go to Home Depot in Charleston. (Right. I was just in Charleston two days this week when I could have easily picked up the parts…) So, that’s what I’m doing with my day. I think I should have put this on the “What’s buggin you today” topic….

Sounds like a busy day for you ….. and I really hope you do get your washer fixed.

I slept, til 2 pm when the lawn guy showed up and the dogs started to bark … so I got up and did a few things around the house.  I have company coming tomorrow so for most of the week I have been doing little cleaning jobs here and there … I am good to go after one quick vaccuum.

And I made a blueberry dump cake using Suzannes yellow cake mix … with a cup of butter on top it should be good no matter what !!

I'm working on assembling my little "to go" piles for the trip.

Kathy – I really hope your washer gets fixed soon!  I can be without just about anything in the house except my washer.  It's my favorite thing.

(does that make me weird?  I think I sound a bit strange…Bug Eyed)

I mean – of all things electrical, I miss it the most when it isn't working…

I forgot the first thing that happened today — I turned on the gas burner and — NO GAS.  A crew was here yesterday clearing the brush up the hill to the gas well.  Evidently they shut off the valve and didn't turn it back on.  I didn't miss it last night because I really only reheated.  So I started the day with no washer, and no gas, thus no hot water, and it went downhill from there.

Fortunately the gas was an easy fix — Mike hiked up the hill with the wrench and turned the gas back on. Unfortunately I'm still without my washer and the mound of dish towels and towels I use to clean udders when milking are piling up.  I had figured out I had just enough to last until today.  Now I get to find time to hit the laundramat to wash them.  That's the only thing I'm low on.  At least the dryer is still working (now that the gas is back on…) so I won't have to sit at the laundramat waiting for the towels to dry.

The alarm is set for 5:15 so I can be at Home Depot shortly after they open, grab what I need, and get back with the supplies so the crew doesn't waste time.  Mine seems to be the only time that's being wasted around here, and I'm getting TIRED!

It's a creative day here today……I've put it off to the last minute, but I imagine and create best at the last minute (at least in my opinion) Happy Flower

It's my mother's side family reunion on Sunday (we're leaving first thing tomorrow) and I need to create a "branch" (my grandfather's) board — his family tree.  and it has to be portable.  I have John out in the shop cutting some luan board to 54"x36" (3 different pieces)….then I can figure out what to do with it…. I have to work but it should be a short day.  Then I am off in search of some paint jars for my airbrush and maybe some paint.  Then this evening I have to take my oldest daughter to her final dance rehersal for the Twilight dance to introduce Michael Welch at the Charleston Town Center Mall tomorrow. She is completely psyched!  I am excited to finally see the dance tomorrow.

I'm stuck at the house today…unless it's an emergency.  Being stuck here isn't a bad thing…I may get a lot done!

My son had a flat last night – and wants new tires.  He set the appointment up for tomorrow, as they were full today.  He is headed out of town this evening…bachelor party this weekend…so he has my husband's car…my husband has my car…and I have the car with the donut tire.  I will not drive it unless I simply have to…I really have no where to be today.  I did want to pick up some of that corn that we only get once a year…if the crop is good…for freezing purposes…but we can do that tomorrow…blanch and cut…exciting Saturday on the way!

Good luck with Sears.  Honestly, I dont know if they know what they are doing.  2 yrs ago they came out to repair my refrigerator – 4 people later and 425 later, it was a computer board in the back – 4 different people came out at 4 different times and the last one had to call some central office somewhere and get help.  the computer board had to have a wire cut to work.  why did they make a computer board and then have to cut a wire off?  dont know.  It was stressful to say the least.  All 4 men took off different parts and said different things.  Evidently all new refrigerators have thsi board and it could go out any time, could be struck by lightening too – I thought for 425, I could jsut buy a new one.
