My goal today is to make you all feel much better about yourselves.

I have worked all day on this little christening gown. So tiny I am sewing the lined bodice entirely by hand. These are the fabrics I chose from my unending fabric I already had.

And this is the first sleeve in the bodice…I stopped there for a while and took a much needed break.

And yes its ok to laugh out loud with me. I did, after I quit cussing.

I worked a ton of overtime this past week so today was clean the house day.  I had to go through the crispers in the fridge to see what collection of veggies I had and I made a huge veggie pasta salad with a greek dressing.  It will be good for lunches this week  Went through the freezer too and got rid of odd bits of frozen veggies and fruits that had been there too long.

Never did get my blueberries picked but I did buy a 5 lb box of local ones.

Beautiful dress Georgia and as long as she waves her little arms in the air no one will notice.

The pendant is also simply lovely

That is so funny, Georgia!  It reminds me of a pair of pants my mom made mein Jr, High.  They were really cute cropped pants with ties on the hem, and we were so excited about them.   When she finished putting them together, she turned them right side out and realized that the pattern on the fabric was upside down!  They were still really cute, and I wore them and loved them, but she was SOOOOO mad at herself!

Oh Georgia!  THAT is funny!  I've done things like that…and it's best I take a break before I take the scissors to it!  I have a special trash can…messed up projects get forcefully thrown into it!  I literally throw my oopsies into the "trash" and they stay there until I'm ready to pick them up again!

Today I get a break! I needed it.  We are supposed to be shearing the sheep but we didn't get them into the barn last night as we had planned.  They are out in the pasture, peacefully grazing — in the rain.  You can't shear a wet sheep.  You also can't do electrical work (outside) or put up fences in the pouring rain.  So the crews we had coming in today will have a day off — and so will I. Sort of.  This just means I get to work at something else that desparately needs to be done, not that I can put my feet up and read a book.

I canned pints of baby pickled beets last night, the last beets for the season, and I surely have enough already canned.  I also cleaned out the refrigerator (like Shells) and tackled cleaning and chopping the vegetables that have accumulated.  Today is a good day to make potato-leek soup (an abundance of leeks and potatoes) and to can the bread & butter pickles.  A little warmth in the kitchen will feel good on this damp, gloomy day.

I slept and have had coffee so I am going to give it one more try. I dont want this poor infant to have to wave all day like Suzanne the parade queen.

I went out to my car to leave for work this morning and realized I had left my sunroof cracked and it was pouring down the rain so I had a mess to clean up before I could even leave the driveway. Cry

It's a cool day (low 90's and overcast) so I decided it would be a great day to run errands – in addition to everything else I have planned for the day.  I took my jewelry to be inspected and cleaned…I don't want to lose any diamonds in the sand…I bought a card at Hallmark, returned a slip to Dillard's…went to Walmart and returned sunscreen that I bought…because I found it MUCH cheaper at Sam's.  Shopped at Walmart…bought a gift card for the card (and this is significant, because I've been out to buy it three different times and forgot it) and then I came home and put everything away.  I'm taking a nap before I start phase II.

I spent most of the day with Mike at the doctor in Charleston.  He's fine — he just needs some work done on the veins in his legs to prevent blood clots.  They did the left leg today, so tomorrow it's back to Charleston for them to do the right leg.  That really kills both days by the time we drive 60 miles each way just to get there and back.

This afternoon when we got home I was able to can pickles (bread & butter sweet pickles and kosher dills) and pickled baby beets.  It was a day for pickling.  Tomorrow I'm looking forward to processing the beans I got at the farmers' market.  I love all aspects of food from growing it, prepping it, canning it, to eating it.

After I go on an outing like that – I'm done for the day!  How did you manage to come home and can???  I love beets…I didn't used to.  I guess that makes me old.

I spent the day cleaning up from the weekend.  I got all of the guest rooms back in order – and the beds made.  I have started packing.  I don't want to forget anything – and I want everything done/ready as much as possible – because I always have "that crisis" just before a big event…and I have to have my act together!

I am at work today, and am just now catching up on this forum.  Georgia, I love the pendant, how cool it is to make something so beautiful.

I didn't do much this past weekend, I even took off Friday, but was is such a weird mood, I did not want to do anything, so my plan is to be more productive this next weekend.  I did finish a couple more premie blankets and Hubby took them to the NICU on Monday after his Dr appt.  I sent 17 this time.

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!

I'm at work, but it's my last day for this week.  I fly home (Illinois) this weekend for my nephew's wedding.  I'll be back Monday.  I've got packing to do tonite when I get home, but it shouldn't take long.  I travel light.  It will be fun as it will be just my sister, brother and I staying at my brother's.  Which is the house I grew up in.  Talk about old home week!  I'm hoping his daughter will be there to, but I think she's staying with her mom.

That is terrific Jeannie! What size are you making them? Are you hand quilting each one? Show us some pics. I wish our hosp delivered babies, maybe someday. Then in my old age I can volunteer to sit and rock them.
