I watched the movie Song Catcher yesterday and loved it.

Does anyone watch Dexter?  It's on Showtime, and there are season out on DVD.  I'm thinking about starting with season one – and going from there.  I've been told that once I start, I won't be able to stop.  Dexter works for the police department as a blood spatter analyst – but he is a serial killer (he goes after the bad guys).

I have seen it, and it was pretty interesting.  I just couldn't quite get over the good-guy turned bad-guy thing…

That is Patrick's favorite show.  I watched it once with him.  Interesting concept.

I am totally hooked on Dexter! It is a great show. This season wasnt as groooose as the first, but just as suspenseful. The stories are awesome.

If you like the book that Dexter is based on is good too.   Don't know author.

Wave Me!  My husband is addicted to it, and Dancing with the Stars.  Maybe we should start a thread.  Do you have any favorites??

I used to really get into it but haven't been watching this season. Me and my daughter went to an American Idol concert last year.

I bought myself a DVD at Best Buy yesterday,"Nights of Rodanthe"starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.Ii's also  book, a bestsellerby Nicholas Sparks. The scene is set in a remote inn on the Outer Banks. Loved it!I knew I would, that's why I bought it without reading the book or watching the movie first. I won't give anything away about the movie, trust me it's worthing seeing.

We actually went to a theater last week! Cant remember the last time we did that. We saw "Gran Torino" with Clint Eastwood. It was really good. Not at all what I thought it was going to be, but very typical him!

I just finished watching "Australia" which was released today and I got to watch it in HD. It's one of those you either hate it or love it films. There were a lot of things that could have been done differently to make this a brilliant film but I won't spoil the movie for you pointing them out. In all , it's worth watching anyway , very touching and I just love a good romance!

Sometimes,I live in my own little world, but it's okay because they know me here.

Kelleh, I LOVE Joss Whedon!! For those who were Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, the creator of that (Joss Whedon) also did Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog. I totally Heart Neal Patrick Harris!

Patty! I'm sorry I'm slow to reply! But YES YES AND YES AGAIN! Joss is Boss. Yes Dr. Horrible is fabulous, as is Firefly, and Serenity… and now… DOLLHOUSE! Have you see any of it? It's currently running on Friday right after the Sarah Connor Chronicles (also excellent if you liked the Terminator stuff, and Summer Glau (River from Firefly) plays one of the main roles.)

We're going to see Watchmen tonight, and from what I've heard we're not going to be disappointed. So all you superhero fans out there, go see it!

Last week I saw Neil Gaiman's Coraline in 3-d… and WOW it was excellent. Typical Neil, but very creepy in some parts. I wouldn't take children to it, but teenagers and up would love it. It's like a very dark Alice and Wonderland, but without feeling like you're on an acid trip.

We rented The Secret Lives of Bees last night. Dakota Fanning and Queen Latifa. It was good, my kind of movie. But have the hankies ready.

I am watching American Idol when I can … of course with shift work I often miss it .  I think its a great line up this time around and I look forward to watching how it advances.

And I must admit, rather shamefully, that I watched the last few episodes of the Bachelor.  Initially it was because its mindless tv when I get home after a busy shift … then, I realize,  that one of the last 3 girls is from my home town in Northern Alberta.  Once I hear that I talk to my family and ask if they know her.  Jillian (the new Bachelorette) went to school with my nephews wife and then I talk to my sister-in-law who says "well don't you remember her grandparents?" and I have to admit I don't.  Turns out they were very good friends with my parents and her dad worked with my brother … and this whole connection goes on and on, but sadly I don't remember them at all.  But apparently they spent many hours visiting at our home.  Now granted, I left home a few years before Jillian was born but its still a cool connection.

Enough of my rambling … can't believe I actually divulged that I watch trashy tv.

Shells – you have it right – mindless TV.  I turned on the last episode of the bachelor – unreal.  sick guy.  the whole thing was a horribly written soap opra at best.  Any reputable counselor would tell you – you dont bring a small child into something like that – all staged for ratings – and then to find out he dumps the girl he picks – bec the mountain top chemistry is no longer there – unreal.  I think he is in love wit h himself and in love with being in love – I was so angry with him for treating those women that way.  The girl he di dnot pick I guess is now giving it a try?????  I think to date no male has married any of these woman.  The only marriage was from Krista the woman who had her show after being dumped and they are still married with a child.  I think it parades women around cheaply for sure and it is disgusting – it is only the modern dressed up version of slavery, belittling women and treating them as if they need a man to save them – it preys on women who want marriage and family and for some reason have not found the right person.  What i dont get is why – these women certainly are not hurting for looks – maybe something else?  Dont know – I just cant believe this continues every year.  This was the worst one yet.  There is no way a man and a woman who have known each other for a few weeks could get engaged – inspite of what the movies say.  It is rare if at all – it lasts.   I do marriage counselling and I can tell you – story after story after story.  This is a shame and a scam

The worst movie I have tried to watch in a very long time was Australia. It was totally horrible, in every way. I spent an hour just looking at the pretty lead guy, then gave it up and turned it off. That is all it was good for.
