Books. Old novels with dog-eared pages. I fear that in 10 years novels will be obsolete. I don't have time to read the way I'd like, but I think it would be a shame to have never curled up with a blanket and gone to Pemberley or Manderley.

Well, I'm kind of ashamed to say it, but I couldn't live without my …..dishwasher! I know, I know, but I lived for many years without even electricity or indoor plumbing. You have no idea! And now just putting the dishes in and they come out clean!!??!! I'll give up the TV just let me keep the dishwasher.

I too just could not give up my coffee! Seriously, I love it sooooo much. I like it strong with just a little half and half to muddy it up a bit.
I gave up ciggies 11 years ago…I just could never give up my coffee!!!

So trying to give up smokin. On Chantix and am down to 5 per day and counting. 
I am a total coffee addict and should own stock in Starbucks.
And books, when we move our stuff from TX to MO this spring the most room in the trailer will be books.

Oh, I wish you well in your smoking-cessation efforts! I recently weaned myself off of coffee. I'm down to 1 or 2 cups of tea a day, and feeling much better for it. Always being in caffiene withdrawl  is a total drag. As for a Starbuck's and a bar (pub) on every corner, it seems there are some addictions that our society approves of  . And I hear you about the books…same thing happened to me when we moved…had to give lots of books away just to have enough trailer-room for little things like beds.

Gasp…..get rid of books! Books are another addiction that David and I have. Hundreds of books, we won't mention my quilt or crochet books. Nor my rose books! NO…those do not count as books that are kept because of sentimental reasons. I have 5 boxes in the closet of just my Magic Crochet magazines….3 boxes of Decorative Crochet magazines. Those are priceless! Really! You can't buy them anymore so any that you have hang on to them or!!! You can send them to me! hahahahahahaha
I love paperbacks because they take up less room and are easier to hold when you are laying in bed reading. Oh yes books are an intimate friends of ours.
There is nothing quite as satisfying as having that cup of delicious coffee and a good book on the porch. Pure heaven!

I grew up in Philippi, WV and there were five of us crammed in an old house that was about 700 square feet and had no running water or bathroom. It consisted of a kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. The small bedroom my sister and I shared and my brother slept on the couch. During the summer we took baths in the creek right behind the house and in the winter we had one of those silver tubs.
I remember having to haul bucket after bucket of water from the well just to take a bath or have water to drink. I WILL NEVER EVER have a small bathroom or be without running water unless I am camping somewhere. And if I have to live out of a cardboard box someday it will be bigger than that old house. (And it will have a bathroom!)
