Do you collect special ornaments or anything Christmasy? One of my sister-in-law's collects the Fontanina (sp?) nativity figurines, and Hallmark ornaments. I used to collect the little Hallmark book ornaments - the one where you open the story book, and there is a scene inside. For some reason, since childhood, those Easter eggs out of sugar, with the scene inside fascinated me. Or things like snowglobes or ships in a bottle. You know, things to look at INSIDE.

Then, the last ornament my mother got each one of is in the family, her last Christmas on earth, was the Hallmark Nativity ornament. I was the one to call the Hallmark store here and tell them that I needed about 10 of them. I think the lady thought I was nuts. LOL But, that is a special memory for me.

And you?

I love antique ones, the older the better. even with the color faded or scratched off, I love them. I even have some real aluminum icicles.

My favorite are the ones the kids have made for me over the years.  I do a special tree with those.  I love the hand blown glass ornaments - I have an “Old World” tree covered in those.  It has to be on a carpet or rug - one of those hits the wooden floor, and it's history!

Georgia, That is my favorite Yard Sale find!!!!!  I have several that came through my family, but most of them are yard sale ones.  How can anyone get rid of their Christmas ornaments???  I have the aluminum icicles, from my parents.  I also have old paper ornaments sold during WWII, but I think I've lost one, a baby carriage. I also have old candle clips.  And yes we do use them, for just a few minutes, carefully watched.

I LOVE Christmas! My favorite ornaments are those my children made in gradeschool with their school pictures inside. I've kept all the little kiddie ones they liked back then too. I have a large antique ornament that belonged to my great great grandmother, but I'm afraid to put it on the tree, so I just keep it in the box and look at it every year when I get my other ornaments out. Also, I have some Picone ornaments, I do put those on the tree. I do have a nativity scene ornament thats inside a clear bulb that hangs on a gold stand also. This year I need to purchase some Baby's First Christmas ornaments for my grandbaby Baby Brookes pictures for me and my daughter Amy, saw some cute ones in the Hallmark Ad.
