Well I ran into a good deal today. In Target, most of their sheets and towels were marked on clearance. I got a set of Woolrich Flannel sheets (twin size) for $10. Cheaper than the Target brand! They will come in handy on my bunk at Winter Retreat next week. We sleep in rustic open air cabins, and even tho it's in Florida, it does get down to 30 degrees at night. With hubby's trusty old Navy wool blanket, I'll be toasty! That's old Navy as in old salt sailor, not Old Navy the brand.
I also got towels to match some I already had, marked down to $3. I guess those bargains justified my $10 water bottle, which is what I went in for. I decided I was going to quit drinking bottled water. So this I can fill from the filter at home, and it will stay cold all day. We were advised to drink bottled water at school. Lots of yucky pipes and stuff there I guess.

I think Pete told us a while back that Pete was an old nickname that was used on line. Indicated it was not gender biased so….I'm thinking that's why cloning might be a disappointment! Ha!
My greatest deal has been to stay out of the stores. Period. I'm going to work on budget today. I want to carve out another 200 – 300 a month to go into savings just in case. Things are pretty normal in OK but overall I'm getting pretty nervous about things.

Barb, that was my mistake. I've done so good staying out of stores. I had a downfall day! I'm like you, a bit worried although things seem okay with us. The best deal is just not shopping!

I need to go to WM to buy wall paint to finish up my kitchen project but cannot make myself go because I know that I will be seduced to go look at yarn and fabric and other goodies. I've never been a big mall shopper but a good discount house and I'm sunk!

My mother says she has found the best way to save $$ — send us to the store!! (She's almost 80 and doesn't get around very well in the ice/snow) She has cut down $200/mo since winter started by simply not going. We stick strictly to the list she gives us to what she needs.

Uhhh. Clone away, but I think you might be very disappointed…
That reminds me of something my Dad told me once…..Every woman is beautiful in her own way. I remember our family of six getting ready for church, having to take turns in the one small bathroom we had. Know what he told me?…..Come on Leah, were not going to a beauty contest! Ha, ha!One of my Nana's sayings…..Pretty is as pretty does. Re post topic, Ya'll just got free quotes! LOL.

Here's something to do while you're sitting at home saving money! Now, I have nothing in this thing, but a friend designed it. I think it is a hoot, a tad addictive, and a bit of no-cost entertainment, for the coffee-lovers among us. You can design your own coffee, find your coffee personality, and the like. It's pure silliness and fun! (Not for those busy lambing and the like, but for those of us sitting around waiting for spring…)

Cute site, Pete. Being that I am a coffee addict…I just had to go see. No matter how busy life gets at times….I always have time for a cup.

I went to Walmart yesterday with a really short list including baby diapers for the bottle-baby lamb we occasionally have in the house with us, and celery and carrots for the soup I'm making today in the crock pot. Nowhere on the list was there an entry for fabric. Then how did I end up coming home with 8 1/2 yards of the nicest 100% cotton fabric – navy blue with small white dots. I have absolutely no idea what that fabric will become in its next life, maybe a summer dress and apron? I just couldn't walk past $1.50 a yard fabric – not when so many of the Walmarts and other outlets are discontinuing their sewing departments.

I invision a form fitting sleeveless, v neck, above the knee dress with a sm slit in the back with a string of white pearls a red belt and shoes. And a cute little waist apron with pockets ,trimmed in white lace.Just a thought!

Wow, that outfit sounds wonderful. Except for the fact that I'm usually in the garden gathering peas instead of dressing up. I do wear something dressier for church though, so maybe that outfit could work for me. I'm more a T-shirt and shorts kind of gal in the summer, and sweatpants and sweatshirt in the winter. I'm more frumpy than fashionable according to my sister — who wears clothes well, and enjoys them. I'd rather shop at the thrift store or from a catalog. She keeps trying to dress me up, but I'm not easy to catch.

Here's a little something for the sheep lovers among us. Saw it in a catalog, and there is a really nice pic at their web site. It's called a "Knitter's Lariat." Can be affixed to a pair of scissors, a cell 'phone, or whatever. They are made of pewter and only $3.99. Seriously doubt you need be a knitter to want one!

JAYNE!!! I found some dominos for 2.00 a set. white or black, regular size. Is that what you use? There is an Asian couple that comes to town once a month with a huge truck load of stuff. They set up in the parking lot of a local hotel and set out boxes and boxes of stuff for 1.00 to 5.00. I'll get you some if you want.

That sounds good here. The last set of dominoes I bought were much more than that, and it was a while ago.
