I'm not sure what to call this dish, other than awesome. A lady at our church brings it to all of our breakfast potlucks, it is similar to a cheese danish.  You can add your own twist on it by adding vanilla or nutmeg or something where desired.  Should be great for a holiday brunch!

2 cans crescent rolls
2 8-oz pkg cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 egg

topping
1 T ground cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Roll out and spread one can crescent rolls on bottom of 9x13 dish or bar pan. cream the cheese, sugar and egg together and spread on top of crescent rolls. Roll out the second can of rolls and spread on top of cheese mixture. Sprinkle with topping mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Enjoy!

Kind of an easy version of a cheese Danish.  Will definitely have to try this one.

I have made this twice to take to work.  On the weekends the cafeteria doesn't open til 11 am but our coffee breaks start at 0830.  Everyone loved this last time and many asked for the recipe ….. now the secret is out, I can't go on about how hard it is to make !!

Finally trying this!  It smells heavenly, and is just about ready to come out of the oven.  Can hardly wait!

Hey Pete, let me know if you think these have to be eaten warm or if they would be good completly cooled too. (If there's any left after they cool!)Laugh

This may actually taste better cooled a bit!  It was great warm (yeah, like I was gonna wait!), but the second tasting was after being completely cooled.  It may have been even MORE yummy!

Next time I will try reducing the amount of cinnamon, maybe puts the nuts into the cream cheese mixture, maybe drizzle with caramel sauce instead of the cinnamon…

Oh, the possibilities!

For what it's worth, I mixed most of the stuff together last night so assemply was all that needed to be done this morning.  Well, I mixed the sugar and creamed cheese together last night, then warmed it a bit in the microwave this morning before adding the egg.  I just have a thing about raw eggs mixed with other stuff sitting around, even if in the refrigerator.  Not that it makes much sense, but it's one of those things for me…

Yes, Cindy, it would be great to have a recipe for roughly an equivelant amount home made instead of store bought on the crescent rolls.  Those tubes are not cheap!

I am trying this recipe over my Christmas vacation break.  Sounds delicious.  Got the ingredients on my Christmas grocery shopping list.
