OMG. Somebody, please try these and tell me how they turn out?  They sound woooonderful!!

http://www.sophistimom.com/bak…..ic-smores/

magic s’mores bars

10 ounces (300g) graham crackers (18 whole crackers, or two cellophane wrapped stacks)
1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
1 pinch of kosher salt
1 14 ounce can (400g) sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups (250g) semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups (I have no idea how much they weigh—just throw a couple of handfuls on!) mini marshmallows

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (180 degrees Celsius). In a large resealable bag (or in a food processor), smash graham crackers until finely ground. Stir in melted butter and salt. Press into a 13×9″ pan.  Bake for 5 minutes.  Remove from oven.
2. Sprinkle on chocolate chips. Drizzle can of condensed milk over graham crackers; follow with marshmallows.
3. Bake for 20 minutes more, until marshmallows are lightly browned.  Let cool completely.  I usually put mine in the freezer to make it go faster.

We are out of graham crackers or they would already be under way!  All my favorite things are in there!  Will try them this way first, then perhaps with nuts?

S'mores are one of my favorite things, and so easy to do in the microwave.  These just sound wonderful!

Oh.  My.  YES!  They are VERY good!   Heart

Since there was no plan to impress anyone with how perfect they are, I didn't let them cool completely.  I see why they suggest a complete cool down before cutting.  But I DON'T CARE!!  Gooey wonderful with crumbs works for me.

Maybe I should try just one more, to be sure…

I bought all the stuff to make them but haven't yet.  Maybe I should have just stopped at your house for smores and fresh bread.

Really I just have to stop coming to the 'recipe' forum. Really I"m not coming back. We have way too much snow, and using the oven warms the house, so while it seems like a great way to keep busy this winter, it can only end badly. I swear, come April when I finally emerge, my neighbours are going to be in for a shock. Shimmy

weeeee I just learned how to use the smileys.

anni

ohhh I just thought maybe my smiley is inappropriate now I have to figure out how to get rid of it.

PS I'm only joking anyway, if you met my kids you would know I never get to sit down, and they always steal all the treats

Hissy Fit

OMG now I'm going to be crazy smiley woman.

I know what you mean about reading the recipes – and looking at the blog posts with all those great, mouthwatering photos of the food as Suzanne prepares it. Sometimes I have to stop in the middle of reading the day's blog and go get another cup of coffee to have with my fantasy breakfast, or piece of pie…

By the way, to get rid of a smiley you don't want to use, just edit your post, and click on the smiley. A box will appear around the smiley. Just hit delete, or even easier, place your curser right after the smiley and backspace – just back right over it – and you'll wipe it out.

The smores bars were a hit! I made 2 pans and took them to the GS lock-in and they were gone in the first 30 minutes.

You have a Sainsbury's in Preston – they should have all the ingredients.
