Firehouse Pork Chops

8 thick center cut pork chops, boneless, well trimmed
1 large onion
10 ounces fresh mushrooms
2 cans Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup (I use my home-canned now)
1 egg
milk
bread crumbs (cracker crumbs work well also)

Bread chops by dipping first in mixture of egg and milk, then bread
crumbs. Fry in oil just until golden brown.
Degrease chops by placing on paper towels (turn to blot both sides).
Place in flat baking dish.
Slice onion and mushrooms and lightly fry in same pan until tender.
Spoon onions and mushrooms over chops.
Mix 2 cans soup with 2 cans water and pour over chops and veggies.
Bake, covered at 350 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes.
Serve over egg noodles.
Feeds 4 hungry fireman or eight regular folks LOL.

Bet it would work well in the crock pot also, maybe reduce the liquid a bit…

Maybe not add the 2 cans water do you think?

Hmmm.  Maybe only half the water??  (I tend to take off the lid way more than I should, so loose more moisture than most people would during the cooking process.)  I would try it the first time with maybe a can & a half, but we like "soupy" stuff.  On the other hand, it's easier to add more than to take it away!

I have made this for 150 people but I haven't made it in a crockpot yet. I would at least cut the water in half. It does have a delicious but a little bit thin gravy. For a thick gravy just use the soups only. I usually make half the recipe for home.
