Yesterday or last night I was wanting some chocolate – it was so cold here in the DFW area I was not about to get out not even for chocolate. so I took 3-4 teaspoons full of a mix of chocolate and white chocolate chips and put them in the microwave for about 2 min. they melted and i put some almonds and dried cranberries in it. mixed and then dropped onto wax paper – I got about 3 pieces. put in freezer for 15 min – and wow – so good. you could use raisins or any nut – dried fruit etc. i wonder about jam in there too. my fav is cranberries or cherries and chocolate – soooo goood.

When desparate, some choc chips, a very small splash of milk, almonds and coconut melted together in the microwave is pretty good as well. Don't have a clue how it hardens. This is always consumed instantly with a spoon. While warm…

That sounds good. Sometimes those are the best creations, that come from "whatever you have on hand", huh!

Jane, I really like the idea of the dried berries with the chocolate. Next time I get one of the midnight hankerings, I will try that. Sounds yummy! Still, I doubt it would make it beyond the eating it warm stage!

How about steak, followed by chocolate? Why choose – have both!

I am with ya – never could understand what the fuss was all about for that steak – pink with blood running out of it – dont ever eat or order fajitas either – what is the fuss over this stuff – i do like a roast once in a while and a good hamburger though, chili – but just a plain old steak – never never never
give me chocolate any day

Well, just substitue your second favorite food for steak, and the principle still applies. When in doubt, with anything in life, I say why choose — do both.

Well, I too, would rather have a steak over chocolate. I like chocolate, but don't crave it. I do get cravings for steaks!
I guess it just depends on what you get cravings for. If you want, I can start this topic. Think I will.

Great topic! That way I can post more than once as my cravings change.

I went to the dollar general this weekend and bought some semi sweet chocolate chips, a can of mixed nuts, dried cranberries, coconut, and pretzels and made all sorts of chocolate covered things. Mmmm.

We did the dipped pretzel thing for Christmas. Unfortunately, the cheapest way to buy the Christmas shaped pretzels is in a container about the size of a bushel basket at Sam's. I don't really need or want that many, but refuse to pay more for fewer pretzels. We dip the pretzels on one side or somehow in melting chocolate then put red & green sprinkles on the white chocolate dipped pretzels and white snowflake decorations on the dark chocolate ones.
Now we have all those prezels left after we tired of the dipping process. One friend took some to add to her Chex Mix, but there are still about a peck of those things. Next time I need a chocolate fix I'm going to get out some of the chocolate, melt it, then crumble some of those pretzels into it. Then it won't matter if it's Easter, they will taste the same!
Hmmm. Pretzels & cranberries & chocolate might be very tasty! (OK, I just like the bunny. He looks happy, like maybe he's been munching on chocolate..)

They do look great, but are so easy to do. We make it a family thing. Just melt some choc, dip and sprinkle! Then let them set up on waxed paper. Maybe next year we will try some dried cranberries? Oooh. That would be good! Thanks, again, for that idea, jane.
