Poky and the Giant Puppy

Nov

IMG_5656
There’s something weird going on. A disturbance in the force. A love affair between Poky and the Giant Puppy. I’m still observing. I haven’t figured it out. I think it’s one-sided. I think Coco wants HELP. Pocahontas keeps following her around the goat yard draping herself all over Coco….. I might have to ask Jack what he thinks about this. I’ve never seen Jack draping himself over the sheep!

Today must be a big dog and donkey day for me…. this morning while walking my Saint B :sun: ernard Ella, and my lab mix Steinbeck we came across 2 adorable mini donkeys eating grass in the ditch by the road. Our neighbors must have gotten them recently. They were sooo sweet and cute! I want one so bad! Anyway I walked up to the neighbors house and woke them to let them know their donkey were out. You just never know what kind of adventures you will have on an early morning dog walk on a country road!

Maybe Poky is offering Coco a ride, since the hens ride on her!!

What a great picture. Normally dogs are the enemy of donkeys, as dogs are predators and donkeys are prey. Our donkeys absolutely hate dogs, and whenever one has come into the pasture, the donkey puts it’s ears back, head down, and chases it away. Yet I’ve seen a lot of photos of the 2 being friends. This is so nice to see.

Maybe Coco was sharing her tale of being banished from the porch and Poky was reassuring her that she is still loved! :snoopy:

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

Old Farmer\'s Almanac

"Lamb-y, then whammy! Get some tickets to Miami! Snow is easing, but we're still freezing. It may be spring by the astronomer, but not by the thermometer. Mighty fine, then leonine."
