This little fainting goat buckling will be joining our farm to be the groom of Sprite and Fanta and the sire to (hopefully) many little bottle caps of his own. In keeping with our soda pop theme, choose your favorite–because I can’t. (I need help!)

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

"Lamb-y, then whammy! Get some tickets to Miami! Snow is easing, but we're still freezing. It may be spring by the astronomer, but not by the thermometer. Mighty fine, then leonine."

Just read the comments section from yesterday’s posting. I’m sorry you’re not writing romances any longer, but I understand the need to change direction.
The romance industry and readers will miss your great books.

It would depend on whether the little guy turns out to be a PIB or not! (Pain in Butt, if you didn’t know!)

I voted for Dr. Pepper (Pepper for short), but I like some of the other ideas that said Mountain Dew and call him Dewey. Actually my first thought was “BOTTLE CAP”! LOL

After looking at the little guy with the white streak, it reminded me of a latte with foam. For a non bottle cap name I would probably name him “Starbucks”

On another note, I admire you so much for so many reasons. Often, women who aren’t “out there” in the world, holding down an “important” job aren’t given any credit at all. But what you do on an on-going day to day basis is what I think meaningful living is all about. Your kids are growing up in such a better way because of the stability, security and foundation you’re providing for them at home. Being self-sufficient in whatever way we can is so, so vitally crucial in this day and age of lack of personal responsibility and relying on everyone else for even our basic needs.
If only there were some way to reward (monetarily would sure make our lives easier!) stay at home mom’s and homemakers. Lack of home life is going to be the downfall of our civilization if we don’t manage to turn things around before it’s too late.
I can’t pay you for what you’re doing, but remember that there are those of us out here that have your same beliefs and hold your same values. I, for one, send support and encouragement for the way you’ve chosen to live your life.
Keep blogging . . . it helps us all immeasurably.
