So Lovin’ It

Our grill broke. And we can’t have that during corn season when we can grill fresh corn in the husk. It’s also the time of year when they have deep discounts on outdoor items like grills, so we got a great deal on a new one. And it has a burner for pots, too! How wonderful is that? I’m canning outside now. I LOVE THAT.

Canning outside! How cool is that! Or perhaps not so cool, depending on the temperature!

Wow – I’m totally impressed! Bring food up from the garden, cook it on the porch while you grill corn, with Clover and her entourage watching every move!!!

:jackolantern: That grill looks amazing! I need me one of them babies. Yessir, canning outdoors is a fabulous idea. You are a genius! I so envy you for your creativity!

Where can I get one? I’ve not seen one like that around here (King, North Carolina). What kind is it? Please tell me, for I desire to cook outdoors again!

The brand (which I’ve never heard of) is Charmglow and it was at Home Depot ($149). Good sales on that kind of stuff right now!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

Old Farmer\'s Almanac

March 2010
"Lamb-y, then whammy! Get some tickets to Miami! Snow is easing, but we're still freezing. It may be spring by the astronomer, but not by the thermometer. Mighty fine, then leonine."
