I Demand a Recount

Obviously, the earth’s rotational cycle and the marking of days has gone sadly out of whack because it’s impossible that my baby boy could be old enough to graduate from high school.

I think the charade was carried a bit far.

All that pomp and circumstance when you know the whole thing is a….

Downright cruel.

I’m sure it shall all be sorted out soon and we’ll be filling out his kindergarten enrollment papers AS WE SHOULD BE.

In the meantime, my baby, if you must carry on with this bold farce in which you go forth into the world as a man…..

    Wow! That’s powerful. It brought a tear to my eye too. Ross is so handsome. It’s kind of scary sending them out into the world, but I think you gave him all the right tools and he will do fantastic! I bet he is excited to get started on his next path.

    I was so happy to see my children graduate – first from high school, and then from college. They were given to me to raise…and I did it best I could. To see them go out into the world on their own was one of my proudest moments…I knew they were ready.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either.
