Hello, new farmhouse. I missed you so much.

Hello, land that is not flat.
Hello, pond.

And garden ready for spring.

Hello, chicks under the red heat lamp! (HUGE chicks! How did that happen already?)

Hello, scary ram.

Hello, moody Jester.

Hello, big chickens!

And even you, Mean Rooster.
My sweet Nutmeg!!!!!

And, oh, my CLOVER!!!

How I worried about you while I was gone.
You were worried, too, weren’t you, Annabelle? We don’t like to be apart.

But it’s okay now.
Because I came home to find….

Hello, rainbow.
"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

"First it's glowing, then it's snowing! A pause, then screaming squalls and williwaws. Bright but bitter, then a thaw. Yet again it's cold and storming: What ever happened to global warming?"

Looks like the chick in the picture is going to be a rooster. Hope for you it’s not, but whenever I have a young chick with a comb that grows so big so fast it’s always turned out to be a roo.
