I miss everything. I want to be on this road. I want to go home. I never want to leave the farm again!!!!
Long day yesterday, two flights, got to the hotel around 4 and by 5 was out the door again. The lovely people from Greater Detroit Romance Writers took me out to dinner then to their meeting. I did a workshop for them then was back at the hotel at 10. Collapsed in the hotel bed. With my new toothpaste because the airport people stole my toothpaste. (Too big. Not allowed. And it was new. I bought some more here, smallest one I could find at the drugstore and it’s probably too big and they’re going to take it away from me today.) By the way, I had no idea so many of you were in the area! This was such a quick trip, I wouldn’t have had a second to meet anyone, but I would have loved to!
I’m headed out the door right now for two more flights and another long day–but at the end of it I will be home!!!
I could stay home all day every day. I’m such a homebody. I miss home. Give me three creeks to drive through on a dirt road in the middle of the beautiful hills any day! There are so many people here! And traffic! And it’s flat!!!!!!!!!!!
Home, I love you!!!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

"First it's glowing, then it's snowing! A pause, then screaming squalls and williwaws. Bright but bitter, then a thaw. Yet again it's cold and storming: What ever happened to global warming?"

I had no idea so many people who comment here were from the neighborhood (being from the Chicago area, I think of anyone from Michigan as a neighbor). But I’m glad that your talk was a success and that you’re headed back to the farm where you’ve made such a great home that you hate to leave it. You’ve really turned the farm and this blog into something special.

I’m sorry to be chiming in so late about this, but I fell behind on posts and just read about Honey’s demise. You have my sympathies.
I have to say, I shed tears for the sweet little boy. I feel a bit of ownership having watched as he met you, was brought to your farm, disbudded (twice to no avail!), fed cookies, escaped, etc. since last year. I’m at a loss…guess that’s silly…
