Mmmm I love sugar cookies. If we weren’t in the middle of moving to a new house I’d be baking. I might christen the new kitchen by baking sugar cookies. Nice and easy and makes the house smell amazing! Happy Valentines Day!!!

Of all the cookies baked, do any of them get eaten by people? The goats sure appreciate them.
We had goats when I was little and that is where all the kitchen mistakes went–and they loved it–even chili, but they put all the beans in their mouth and spit them out when they were done.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
