Hello, Clover.

You look very pretty today.

I mean, you look pretty EVERY DAY!!

Don’t get mad now. I saw you playing with the babies. Butting heads.

I saw Nutmeg dancing.

What about me, Clover? Can I come in and play? I have a game.
Follow me here.

Follow me there.

This way.

That way.

Now let’s go in the opposite direction!

C’mon! Isn’t this fun? Follow me again. (I can make them do anything! I am like…the pied piper! I am soooo powerful!!)

I walk here, I walk there, I walk back, back, back, and they follow, follow, follow–

Back– Oh. I forgot about this other pile of logs.

Wait!

Hold on! GET OFF ME!

Help!

I HAVE COOKIES!
Clover: “Hand them over and no one has to die.”

Clover? You look really pretty today, have I mentioned that? Cuz Clover, I didn’t bring any cookies.

But look! Look over there! THERE’S A COOKIE TREE!

BYE!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

"Lamb-y, then whammy! Get some tickets to Miami! Snow is easing, but we're still freezing. It may be spring by the astronomer, but not by the thermometer. Mighty fine, then leonine."

Who is entertaining who? Are you entertaining yourself or the goats? Maybe it’s both. Oh well, I’d be out there talking to them too if I were there. They always look so happy to see you.

Seriously Suzanne–you should think about doing a childrens book featuring your animals. My kids would have loved this stuff when they were little. If you write one, I will promise to buy one for my nieces!

Funny story about the article, my wife and Ginger work together, and Ginger was telling my wife about being interviewed by Suzanne McMinn about her farm. My wife immediately recognized your name from all of the Clvoer tales I read and relate to her, and she asked Ginger, “Are you talking about Suzanne McMinn who is Clover’s Mommy?”
That Clover!! Word is getting out about her antics.
Thank you for brightening our days here in the dead of winter.

I read your article, too…it was great! If I didn’t love my Tennessee Mountains so much, I would be tempted to look toward WVa!

All those feet following the goat (who did what goats do, you know, with droppings…on carpeted floors).
Love the pictures, love the stories, so glad to have found you through the bloggies award site.
