My little woman turns 13 today. I hope that I can get my car down the driveway so that I can bring her home. I want to bake her chocolate cake and homemade pizza (in that order). I want to tell her that I like her and love her and that when I was her age, I wanted to be just like her.
And that she can steal all the clothes from me she wants if she promises to stay 13 forever.

The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

"Lamb-y, then whammy! Get some tickets to Miami! Snow is easing, but we're still freezing. It may be spring by the astronomer, but not by the thermometer. Mighty fine, then leonine."

(Suzanne, my son just turned 13 in November. That means we were gestating mostly at the same time! Prego sisters!
At 6′2″ and 220 lbs he doesn’t steal my clothes, but sometimes, I steal his! Especially his jackets when I am in a big hurry.)

PS
Be sure to eat the cake *before* the pizza. That’s how it’s done.
(Hey Suzanne, you’re now the proud mother of ALL teenagers! How does that feel? Brave, not old, I’m hoping.)
