I had never heard about feeding them the eggshells to make their own eggs stronger. I guess it has lots of calcium in in. I will remember that! If you open the egg cartons and stack them one inside the other, they will take up a lot less room. We were saving cartons to take to a local supplier who used them to fill when people came to buy his eggs. I used to have a rooster as a pet, and named him Lonesome George because I didn't have any hens. Loved reading about your chickens...and Coco!
