Nutmeg is absolutely adorable. She can do whatever she wants. I see her as a big star.
They have dog stars so why not a goat star? She’s cuter than a lot of the pooch stars. Have a great day and
to all.

They could not be any cuter!! Good luck with them and fixin your tractor!!!

Great article in the paper!!!! I think you could make a ton of money with a children’s book about a WV farm including the old house and all

Heidi–the tractor’s not broken! I meant breaking in the tractor on the duck pond in the sense of breaking in new shoes–it was the first big project with the tractor.

Oh, boy. I sure hope Sparticus is okay with this. It could get ugly.

Nutmeg is quite photogenic and a beauty. All your farm critters should star in a movie together, it would be a hit for sure! Question is, which one would be the lead star? By the way, the Vegetable Pie recipe from the other day is out of this world!

Awww….what a cutie. She’s even smiling. What a great way to wake up on another RAINY day in St. Louis! Lauri

Watch out Hollywood…here comes Nutmeg! I am sure she will become a big star and have lot of other goat admirers.

So cute.

Well, if nothing else, she could always get work as a stand-in. Is it just me, or is there an uncanny resemblance between Nutmeg and a certain big-time Hollywood star?

Especially around the mouth and chin. Ears…not so much.
9:34
am
There is a bit of family resemblance, now isn’t there??

Just updated my desktop background with your sunflower picture! It puts me in a happy mood!

That’s true, Suzette! LOL!

LOL Dumb little Taco bell dog!
I love the Sunflowers around here too.

Not being terribly familiar with goats, what are those little flaps on either side of her head?

Cute picture…..
My boyfriend just called me and said that he just bought 5 Alpacas. Ok, so we are not prepared to be Alpaca Farmers. I have not read one single book on them. We don’t even have a farm. He has been talking about one day in lets say 5 years owning Alpacas. What was he thinking??? Does anyone know about raising these huge beautiful animals???

Robin, those are wattles, which are small appendages of skin, usually found on the neck. Not all goats have them, and they serve no functional purpose. (They’re considered ornamental, but some people cut them off when the goat is a baby. I’m not planning to remove Nutmeg’s. It sounds too mean! And I think they’re kinda cute.) They’re not a breed characteristic, but a family one, so it’s genetic thing, though Clover doesn’t have them (and neither does Honey).
10:55
am
HAHAHA, that is too funny. And completely unexpected.

how funny! And thanks for the “wattle” lesson, the things we learn, and that I never knew. Clover is a poser already and I know she’d do great in Hollywood, but I’d miss seeing her on the farm. She’s adorable.

What a beautiful little goat. Her ears look dark teal in the picture.
Yes, Hollywood needs to see her. If a pig can make it, so can a goat.
11:34
am
That’s ink from where she was tattooed and it will wear off. That’s why her ears look green!
11:42

i like her wattles too. they look like earrings to me. maybe you can get her some piercings in her wattles to go with her tats.

How cute..she definitely needs the wattles..they give her a “look at me, everyone” sort of grace.

She is too cute. But I’m spoiled - I NEED MORE pictures. The sunflower is beautiful, but where’s Coco, the chickens, the ducks or more FOOD pictures. YUMMY!!!
Hope you’re having a GREAT week! You must be so busy with all the new babies and changing farm activities. In this 100 degree Memphis heat, I can barely find the energy to type. Thank heavens for air conditioning!!

Oh my, I can see Nutmeg the Diva now, “I’m too pretty to live in this dirt, I want a room of my own”

Nutmeg is adorable!

Perfect, absolutely perfect. I’ll be proud to say I knew her when. (Well, through the internet anyway)

LOL, I hope she doesn’t get too big for her britches . . .

Coco can join Nutmeg in going Hollywood!
I think you should think about getting a couple of potbellied pigs next.

Nutmeg is so cute that I would have a hard time leaving her in the goat pen. I would probably have her at least on the porch or maybe just once in a while in the house. Tell me your kids haven’t thought of that. Keep the livestock updates coming.

That’s the cutest little goat face I’ve ever seen!
