Get the Chickens in the Road 2009 Wall Calendar! Click here!Posted by Suzanne McMinn on May 20, 2008
Some are beautiful.

Some are big, and some are little.

Some are contemplative.

And some are funny.

Some are not very nice to to the others and say, “I’ll get you, my pretty.”

And some say, “Kiss my bootie, little banty.”

The End.

WOW - they are growing up sooo fast… they have gone from eggs to peeps to chicks and soon they will be full blown chickens… well I don’t know if those terms are all correct but… it’ll work for now!
9:25

Wow, they’re growing up quick! When will you start getting eggs and/or chicken legs?
9:28

Just eggs! No chicken legs! I think they start laying around five months. So, four more months…

They just crack me up at this stage. The bodies of young adult chickens, the heads of chicks, and the attitudes of tweenagers! I love your not-very-nice one the best. Such a personality!

Margie, no, that’s the little chick that I helped out of the egg. She does have some pretty reddish feathers! I’m looking forward to seeing what a pretty chicken she will be! Lucky is a pretty one, too–she has a mixture of black and white feathers on her back while this one has the red.

Ohhh, they are all so adorable..I love “the end” one the best…so precious. I could just squeeze a toot out of them all! So precious!

Dear Suzanne,
Your blog was recommended by a friend of a friend of a friend. I have enjoyed reading it immensely for several months now. I have never posted a comment but feel I needed to today on behalf of the little chicken with the insane eyes. Sure he sends shivers down the other chick spines and gives humans the evil “eye”, but he can’t help looking like he does. Think of his forefather the “bald eagle”. Have you ever looked one of those in the eye? They may be our lands national symbol but golly they looked ticked off don’t they? Anyway…I beg you to give this little guy another chance. I bet all the other chicks are jealous of his eyes if truth be known. I just know this little guy is destine for greater things.
Sincerely,
Josie

It must be my warped sense of humor but I love the chick with the evil eye the best as do a few others. You have a lovely variety!
