First Houseguests!

Daily Farmhouse Journal

We had houseguests at the new farmhouse! My Canadian writer friend Margery and her husband, Roman, stopped by on their way to Florida to spend the night. Here, Margery surveys the river across the road from our farm. I think she’s trying to figure out whatever made me think I could drive through it.

Roman was analyzing the fishing prospects. (Is that not the coolest name ever? Roman. I thought it was so cool that several years ago I named a character in one of my books Roman, after Margery’s husband.)

Then I drove them through the river to take them to see the house where my dad grew up (about a half mile down the road after the river ford) and back to our meadow to walk around. Chivalrous Roman found a rock to make it easier for Margery to cross the creek.

He’s a retired firefighter, so he’s a real hero.

Then we went back up to the new farmhouse and despite driving all night all the way from Canada, Roman helped 52 move some furniture for me. I have my dining room table now!!!!

Did I mention I have my dining room table now?!

I HAVE MY DINING ROOM TABLE NOW!

I interrupted conversation at dinner about 20 times to exclaim upon the fact that I HAVE MY DINING ROOM TABLE NOW.

I was excited.

I recently bought new diningroom furniture. Sometimes I sit there for no reason, other than cause I can. I can relate. So nice of your friend to stop in to say Hello. May many more come to visit your secluded piece of Heaven!

Isn’t it fun to sahre you dream…one that you can actually touch, with friends?
