When you drive down a road with signs like this….
….you could end up like that.
Then your car goes away like this….
….and you have to get a new one like that.
Insurance people love me.

Uh oh!
But this begs the question: Why did you try to cross at that time anyway?

Uh, oh! Well, I guess you’ll read the signs from now on
I’m sure it didn’t LOOK that deep, right??

I don’t know what is worse, you getting stuck in the water, or me getting stuck in four feet of snow . . . Funny that we both wrote about it today on our blogs! Great minds and all that.

my sister and I were late for a wedding once because we took the back road around a hyway construction. The sign read,” No through Road” we though,” that’s just for people who don’t know how to drive” so… we were up to our knees in mud by ourselves where noone would be driving past to help. We made it out and headed back home to change before the wedding. But the bride had to wait for us to be seated!!

Now Suzanne, you should know by now that we country people don’t waste time putting up signs unless they are truly necessary!
I have to admit I did laugh at the big city girl side of you that showed up today.

It really didn’t look that deep!

They put signs there like that for a reason. You were bored with your old car anyway, right? *G*

Dare I admit I always laugh at people who get stuck like that when they show them on the news? *g*

You really wanted a new car, didn’t you?

Please say you REALLY didn’t!!!! If so, you MUST march down to the next official town meeting and beg them to put in a bridge! (take your pathetic photos with you!)Is the road county owned, or that your personal drive? Those rugged men in photo 3 aren’t bad!!!! Those are REAL men, not some wimpy little sissy footed things! ROTFL!

Oh, noooooo! It really didn’t look that deep to me. But at least you got a new car out of the deal!

Yes, it really happened. I, of course, always have my camera with me, LOL. That is my old car, and that is my new car. It happened a couple weeks ago, long enough ago for me to get my check from the insurance company and buy a new car.

OMWord! Do you live in my old house in Iowa? I remember the road looking like that but not the sign! Thanks for sharing! This made me take a trip down memory lane… So… one more question.. did you survive the floods of ‘93?

Lets see, where is the address to the water so I can drive my car in and get a new one!!!
I found your site from another site that was in the new artful blogger magazine. I too live in the country in Utah, not on a farm, but farmers all around me. I just have to visit you often as your site is really quite entertaining and makes me laugh. I will have my husband try some of your recipes and I have told some of my internet friends to visit you. brenda @ justabedofroses.com

Suzanne -
You have made my day!!! I love it - adventure in the woods with 3 handsome men to boot!!! Never done that before though in my work and travels I cross many out of the way and out in the country bridges and such. I like the back roads compared to the highways. You should publish a West Virginia cookbook called The Farm TAble. Get folks there to submit recipes to you for it and they get a free copy when done. You would really sell these things. get you camera to working for some more great photos too. Would love to see it.

What a way to get a new car? Can I come there and try that? LOL.
Are they the same car and the same color?

No, the one that got killed was a Chevy Trailblazer, kinda gold. The new one is a Ford Explorer, gray. They look pretty similar, though!
