Boonies

Looking for perfect West Virginia fall foliage? Now, now, now is the time! This photo was taken yesterday near Spencer in Roane County. A great trail: Take Lick Fork Road off Rt. 119 and circle back around to the highway using Missouri Fork. Don’t miss the beautiful, historic farmhouses along the way. Watch out for goats in the road!
What about you? Where are your favorite fall foliage haunts this year?

Oh, what a photo! Absolutely gorgeous, Michelle. Breath-taking.
There aren’t any areas in the immediate vicinity; you have to travel north a bit before you get to more rugged landscape. And the leaves here (except for the maples) are either still mostly green or just turning brown.
So I definitely would love to fall into your “postcard.”

Uh, sorry, Suzanne, for calling you Michelle. This is what happens when I start posting on multiple sites.
-Kim (who feels foolish now, and is wondering if she called Michelle “Suzanne”)

Kim, that’s okay, I knew what you meant. Michelle is so cute, you can call me Michelle anytime.

I live in the mountains of western NC. All I really have to do is look out my window to see God’s beautiful painting.
I do plan to go for a drive up in the Great Smoky Mt. National Park though. It’s only about a 15 min. drive so I can manage that. Your photo is spectatular. Wish I lived close enough to see your “colors”. Have a great day and
to all.

I live on the Texas Gulf Coast. This time of year, if my daughter and I time it right, we can watch the sun rise over the gulf on her way into school. And dolphins frolic. Another way to make reason out of hurricane season.

I live in the mountains and just have to look out the windows, of which we have many, to see the beautiful foliage. Your picture is beautiful!

Gorgeous! I probably drove past that very spot yesterday evening, around sunset.

Beautiful picture!
We’re surrounded by pine trees that are “evergreen”, so we go annually to our local arboretum that has a variety of colorful trees, along with a some great climbers for the kids, and a magnificent pile of leaves they can play in.

I have some local pictures kind of like yours. I’ll try to post them this weekend.

What a gorgeous picture!
My front yard is gorgeous right now. Lots of maples–but the wind is blowing and the leaves are swirling to the ground.

Beautiful picture. For peak foliage, we ride up to Hendersonville NC or the Blue Ridge Parkway (also NC).

That is a beautiful picture Suzanne. The closest I ever get to Roane Co. is driving through on I 79 from Nicholas co. to my Mom’s down in Logan. It is finally starting to become the beautiful fall here though. I wouldn’t mind to have Becki’s view though either.
(Who wouldn’t like to be able to watch the dolphins playing in the water). Hope everyone has a great evening.

I live in SD so we don’t have quite as many trees, but it sure is pretty driving around the lake here.
