A New Farmhouse Is Born

Farm

Last week…..

The half-built bridge.

The perfect site for a home in the woods on the hill.

This week…..

The finished (except for laying stone) bridge across the creek.

The graded driveway up the hill (also ready for stone).

The graded site for our new farmhouse, all staked out!

I see chickens….. :chicken:

And a horse in the meadow. And a cow. And a duck pond. And me. Rocking on the porch…..
:shimmy:

I see a fantastic view, a large comfortable home with lots of insulation, good heat with a backup system of some sort, air conditioning and no frozen busted water pipes. I see a happy Mom and three very happy, well adjusted  children. Now what more could anyone ask for? Have a great day and  to all.

Thanks for being such a wonderful ambassator for West Virginia. Hope all West Virginians continue to vote for Wild and Wonderful (from yesterday’s post). I’m so happy for you and your family to be realizing your dreams. Maybe we should go back a little further to Almost Heaven West Virginia. Also, great game on Saturday. Go Mountaineers!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Fannie said it all. What more could you want than that? Maybe a nice porch swing to watch the deer come down and feed in the evenings. I’m glad you and your family are doing great Suzanne. Hope everyone has a great day today.

I’m thrilled for you, Suzanne. This is wonderful! So exciting.

But…oh, boy, pig and chicken poop have to be among the worst odours on the planet. Sheep too. And yeah, I know this from lots of experience when I was young.

Now horse…horse is GREAT, even horse manure. Cow–not so bad. ;-)

P.S. Email sent yesterday with my snail mail addy re. the book.
