Meanwhile, Back at the Farmhouse

Can you tell I’ve got company coming for the weekend? I’ve been on a baking binge–banana muffins, bread, cookies, brownies….plus I made a major swing by the farmers’ market. Doesn’t that all look good?!

:cowsleep: I went blackberry picking again this morning, and I’m cleaning house now. Arriving this afternoon is a writer friend and her daughter. There will be lots of playing in the river, porch swinging, and oh yeah–eating! What are you up to?

That looks yummy!! My mom’s birthday is Friday so probably end up going out to eat and take her out somewhere on the weekend. Wouldn’t mind spending some time outside and making a dent in the tbr pile :shimmy:

All that baking you’ve been doing looks yummy! I’ve been reading Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss, this is only the second book of hers I’ve read. So far I haven’t been disapointed.

The banana muffins look good. :hungry: I’m trying to get the house and yard totally cleaned in the next couple weeks cause we are leaving on the 17th for Williamsburg, VA and the beach for a week’s vacation. Yea. :elephant: It will be my baby’s first so we have to get plenty of pics and video, and as much as she loves the pool, I can’t wait to get her in the surf and she how she reacts. Hope everyone is having a great day. :snoopy:

I think we should do a taste-test for you, Suzanne, just to make sure everything is up to snuff for your company. ;-)

It’s a long weekend for us, as August 6th is a holiday, so it’ll be the usual running around for errands on Saturday, hiking in a conservation area on Sunday (unless the weather is crummy), and Monday…I don’t know. Probably boring housecleaning!

Oh, it looks so yummy especially since I’ve gotten lazy and never bake any more.

Wanted to let everyone know I received my package today – I especially like the cat food cover and the infamous navel lint brush

    Congratulations Crystal B!
You are more than welcome to ship some of that lovely looking baked goods to me! *G*
RIght now I am recovering from a Kick-butt Yoga class and that “time”. This weekend? Not a clue.

Hope your visit goes well and have a great day!

As hot as it is up here, I would be afraid to turn on the oven. The baked goods look delicious.

On Saturday, I’ll be waiting for the cable guy and he better show up on time. After, I need to buy a floor lamp and maybe catch a movie.

    Have a good day.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
