Happy Fireworks Day!

Things to do today:

1. Grill the perfect burger.

2. Send a letter to any soldier.

3. See if you could pass the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service’s citizenship test. Try this one–

What are the 13 original states?

I’m pretty sure I could pick out the one with New Zealand as wrong…..but I’d just be guessing otherwise. Don’t tell the INS on me……

    Happy July 4th from a “neighbour” in southeastern Ontario, Canada.

    By the way, I have recently discovered Ms. McMinn’s books and this web site and am delighted with both. And yes, my copy of “Secrets Rising” is on its way! :-)

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either.
