Snow Day!

Jan

The strangest snowman ever….

No school today! Cars running off the road into ditches! Even the salt truck ran into a ditch! I think I should stay home….

Angels Fall (based on the Nora Roberts book) is on tonight! Next Monday night is Montana Sky, with John Corbett!!! Can’t wait for that one! Anyone else watching?

Free Book Friday: Is It Live Or Is It Memorex?

Buttercup has a Mini-Me!

Left–the new chubby kitten who just Showed Up on the farm out of nowhere. Yes, we actually stopped producing kittens so now people are just dropping them off. He has been called Chuck, Buddy, Scooby, and Tiger so far. We’re still waiting for consensus on a name. Buttercup (below) is not amused either by the striking resemblance or the new addition to the feline family. He’d like to name his Mini-Me something more like Go Away And Don’t Come Back.

In the meantime, I have a new FAQs page! A few weeks ago I collected questions, and the page is up with as many questions and answers as I could! Check it out! Feel free to add a new question at the bottom of the page in the Comments section. Lots of other updates on my site (by the way, my daughter took that new photo of me on the Home page–and unlike her brother, she took it for free!). I’ve also got some info up on my upcoming Silhouette Romantic Suspense “Haven” series you can see here.

:elephant:Drop a line and let me know what you think, and be in the running for your autographed pick from my contemporary backlist! Winner announced Monday!

A Very Blonde Day

Jan

So, the TV in my bedroom wasn’t working. I decided it must have something to do with the electrical plug since everything else in the house was working normally. But believe it or not, I couldn’t find the plug. (Things are a bit crowded behind the TV.) I needed a Little Person. I called my daughter in. I said, Where’s the plug? All I can find is the satellite connection. She said, That’s what makes it work, the satellite connection. I said, NO, IT HAS TO HAVE ELECTRICITY. She said, I don’t know what that is. I said, Electricity! It’s what makes things work! Go look at your TV!! It has a plug! She went and looked at her TV and said, I see it! I know what a plug is now! I said, Okay, so WHERE IS MINE? She finally found it and then with amazing technical expertise, I plugged it in.

I hope the two of us are never stranded on the side of the road with car trouble….

Puppy dog cake! She loves dogs. Loves, loves, LOVES dogs. And horses. And cats. And, well, anything that moves and she can pet.

This was a real simple cake–two cake rounds with two cupcakes for the paws, and I used icing to make the ears and mouth etc. It was fun, and she liked it. Children can be so easy to please! You made anything fun lately? :hungry:

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

Old Farmer\'s Almanac

March 2010
"Lamb-y, then whammy! Get some tickets to Miami! Snow is easing, but we're still freezing. It may be spring by the astronomer, but not by the thermometer. Mighty fine, then leonine."
