Drive, drive, drive, that’s all I do!!! I spent 3 hours last night driving around town. Daughter had a game. #1 Son had a game. #2 Son had a practice. And they all needed to be somewhere at almost the same time. #1 Son’s game was an away game, so I dropped him off for the carpool. I took #2 to his practice and my daughter to her game and it started drizzling. They didn’t call the game. I drove back and forth between the practice and the game, checking on them, and waiting for #1 to call me on my cell phone to tell me if they were heading back if his game was cancelled. (Had no idea if it was also raining where his game was.) #2’s practice was cancelled so I took him back with me finally to Morgan’s game, where unbelievably they kept playing in what was by then pouring rain. They played till they finished the game and then the coaches did what they always do at the end of a game–make the girls run a lap around the bases. I couldn’t believe it. These girls were already soaking wet and the field was a muddy mess. Do coaches have a special stupid gene? They couldn’t SKIP the bases lap ONE time?! So OF COURSE Morgan slips in the mud between first and second base and falls on her face……… I still hadn’t heard from #1 so I started to take Morgan and #2 back to the farm but before I could get out of town #1 called that his game was cancelled and he was 30 minutes from town on his way back. By then it was after 6 pm and they were starving–we’d left right after school with no time for them to even grab a snack, so I took them to Wendy’s and spent literally my last dime in my wallet to get them all burgers and fries (not enough money for me–I got one fry out of the bottom of the bag, LOL) and we went to the carpool dropoff to wait for #1. Not a real constructive use of 3 hours, but we kind of had fun in that nothing got accomplished Seinfeld way………
All this driving around to baseball IS driving me a bit crazy. What about you? This is your chance to bitch and whine and moan. I’ll choose two winners by random comment number drawing on Monday for their pick from my contemporary backlist! So go ahead, tell me what’s driving YOU crazy?!
