Today!!!! Hot Target, my eHarlequin online read, begins!!! This story is FREE and it’s a blast!! I promise. I had so much fun writing it, it should have been illegal. Hot Target is a PAX prequel–whether you’ve read The Beast Within or not, it’s more than an introduction to the formation of the PAX League. It’s a stand-alone, fast-paced, fun read all by itself. And it’s FREE, DID I SAY THAT? Here’s the scoop:
Dedicated to its charitable mission, Diamond Chavez joined the PAX League and found herself halfway around the world feeding hungry children on a third-world Pacific island. But when rebel guerrilla terrorists blew up the village where she worked, she escaped to a small West Virginia mountain town to start over–with one of the surviving children. Emotionally and physically scarred, she hid away from the world, but the world has come calling in the form of one lean, mean PAX agent, Quinn Monroe. She’ll have to learn to trust again–and imagine the unimaginable–that the PAX League she once knew has grown into something new and powerful, a covert under-core dedicated to preventing terrorism across the globe. And the child she saved could save the world because the explosion that blew up the village has imbued her with a power Diamond can barely believe. If she dares. And there’s not much time, because the terrorists want the child’s secrets—and Diamond is in the way.
Every Monday between now and mid-September, an installment of Hot Target will go up at eHarlequin. There’s also a readers’ discussion thread here. I’d love to hear what you think!
Also, hey, if you won a copy of The Honeymoon Man during my Extravasuzannza recently, Alyssa at Alyssa’s Book Blog (fabu reader blog) posted a discussion of the book on her blog here. It’s kinda fun reading a review of one of my older books. And if you’re wondering why The Honeymoon Man was written under the name Suzanne Dye…. Once upon a time not so long ago, if you wrote for more than one publisher you sometimes ran into contractual issues. I published four books under my maiden name, Suzanne Dye, for Precious Gems before I was able to work things out and subsequently wrote more Precious Gems (and other books) for Kensington as Suzanne McMinn. My mother read my first Precious Gem, Operation: Baby, and exclaimed, “You finally write a book under the name WE gave you and it’s TRASHY???” Wait! Before you yell at my mother. My mom was kidding–she is the biggest supporter of my writing and is one hundred percent responsible for my fixation with romance novels since she put a romance novel in my crib (almost). But I think Operation: Baby was just a TAD hot for her, LOL. And now you wish I’d give away copies of too-hot-for-my-mother Operation: Baby. Hey, maybe soon I will……
