Yesterday’s winner of a PAX mug: comment #35–Jeanette! (Email me!) Another contest today, and the Grand Finale Extravasuzannza contest tomorrow! (Don’t miss it!)
Beast buzz: From Michelle at Michelle Willingham’s blog– “When I read writing like this, it takes me out of the everyday world of mopping floors and children screaming, Mommy, watch me! I can slip into a world of a hunky hero with super abilities and his haunted dream of reuniting with his estranged wife. It’s not just a fun, suspenseful book–it’s quality writing, and I appreciate that…. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, suspenseful and emotional read, check this one out!” Read Michelle’s entire discussion here.
:bananadance:Today’s contest: The Next Nora–which three of these five signs REALLY happened to me and indisputably foretell my future success? (No, I’m not desperate, why do you ask?) Pick the three signs that are true (post just once!) and I’ll draw from the correct responses for a PAX t-shirt!
1) I grew up in the same Washington,D.C. suburb as Nora.
2) We are both Mary Stewart fans.
3) The day I mailed my last book, one of my dogs pooped in the perfect shape of a Rita Award.
4) We both took a little over a year to sell our first book after we started writing.
5) I was in the same elevator with Nora at the Dallas RWA conference and breathed her air.
So, for a PAX t-shirt, which three signs are real? Distract me as I await my hair appointment or comfort me if I’m upset when I get back!

I vote for 1, 2 & 5!
Interesting thing to remember about Nora, who is one of my all time favorite authors, is that she was originally rejected, too! Now she sells something like 13 million copies of books a year. Someone once told me, but it could be an urban legend, that Nora received a rejection that suggested she not write anymore.

am
Well, I’m going to be hopeful that you haven’t reached the state of obsession where you’re likening your dog’s poop to a Rita, because only I could be that bizarre, and I’ll go with 1, 2, 5.
Besides, wouldn’t you have told us THEN that your dog made such great poop?

I am going to suggest 1,2, and 4. I love Mary Stewart. The Ivy Tree is one of my all time favorite novels. I love her old suspense novels, less fond of her Merlin novels.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that if number three ( it would have been more approriately named number two!) were true you would have sold it on Ebay and retired. Remember that famous grilled cheese sandwich sold to the casino! My guess is for number one, number two and number five. And remember: Man or woman does not live by hair alone! What is on the inside is what really counts - and baby you are beautiful!

Are the pictures at the top of the new or “old” hair? Whichever–it looks great to me.
I’ll go for 1, 2, 4. I know two of them are right but I don’t know about the other. You’ve been cagey about where you grew up. Did you always intend to let us answer that question?
I’ve started the BEAST! Great atmosphere on the island and the characters are well-defined. Love them. At the moment they’re just reviewing who looked through the apartment and could have dropped of the containment serum.:?:

Sigrun, the pics are of my new hair! Those are pics from this afternoon. Yes, I must withhold some secrets, like where I grew up, until I get to use them in a contest, LOL! (I’ll answer that tomorrow, though!) I’m so glad you’re enjoying the Beast!!!
